Should an EAL student try to do VCE Literature ?

I’m from a non-English background and I have just been in Australia for less than a year (about 10 months). The teachers said that I need to drop 1 subject when I’m going to year 12. So I’m thinking about doing something crazy such as doing VCE Lit unit 1/2 since it won’t be count to my ATAR. I’m doing a lote now and will have bio, chem, eal, spesh and method next year. Thank you.
