The year 12 journey of rainbowsparkles15

I can't believe I didn't realise this thread existed until now!!
I love the idea of this because I've tried to keep up a diary soo many times and knowing other people are doing the same around me on AN is the perfect incentive to keep up my entries!

So 2018 is the year I take year 12 wow...
School broke up yesterday so now I'm on summer holidays. We had a 2 week headstart program before breaking up so I've been able to get used to my teachers and meet my classes for next year as well as getting started on the first part of each of the courses.

I completed 3/4 biology in year 11 and I wish December 15 would come around faster! The exam definitely threw me a little and despite knowing the entire study design in detail I have doubts of a 40+ (although that is the goal!)

In 2018 my 3/4 subjects are English, Methods, Further, Chemistry and Accounting.
I'm hoping to do best in English and Further (43+) which will hopefully help to increase my ATAR!
I've always been aiming to study Science or Biomedicine at university but am uncertain as to which career paths I am interested in (it changes a lot)

I've had an incredibly relaxing summer break and with year 12 starting next week I've been thinking about my 2018 goals.
By posting them here hopefully I'll feel more accountable and can reflect on them at the end of the year

School goals
-Enjoy year 12 holistically and remember it's a year about more than just an atar
-Clear up all questions early
-Dedicate time to studying for sacs earlier
-Don't let underperforming on a single sac deter me
-Have fun!

Personal goals
-Remain calm!!!
-Make an effort to stay active (going for runs more often, getting a gym membership?)
-Get my driving hours up!
-Make time for my family
-Get out of the house more
-Make some new friends

Study score goals
I wasn't sure if I wanted to devise a number for each subject so early on but I'm hoping doing this will keep me motivated!
English: 45
Further: 44
Chemistry: 40
Accounting: 38
Methods: 36

A big year indeed!! Good luck to you also  :)

I've always had a passion for science and health so I'm deciding between a Bachelor of Science or Biomedicine though I'm not sure which is more suitable (as I'm not certain I'll head down the med pathway.) Either way though, I'm super excited to be able to study subjects I'm passionate about if all goes well!

Good luck this year rainbowsparkles15! It's good to see people getting some serious useful goals in their lives ahead of a big year, and here's my piece of advice as someone who has had 6 older siblings go through VCE: Make sure that your VCE is not the only thing in your life. Enjoy the year both in school and have things outside school that you can enjoy as well. Make the best out of the year, but still work hard, and you will have both a fun year and a satisfying year! Good luck!
2017-2018: VCE
Methods | Specialist | Physics | Chemistry | English | Texts and Traditions

2019: B. Eng (Hons) | Monash
2019-?: Certificate III  in Bricklaying and Blocklaying

Have counted to 80

Having an enjoyable year is my number one priority as it's so easy to become completely involved in school and forget about your personal wellbeing too!
Wow 6 older siblings that's impressive!! Definitely advice I'll keep in mind, thanks Marvin!

First official week of year 12 is going well!
I'm loving all the year 12 privileges like the common room and being the oldest in the school
Classes have been great so far, I'm particularly enjoying English and chemistry because of the content, teachers and because they're my areas of strength
I've also had my first week back at tennis, helped out with some school fundraising and spent some time helping the new year 7s settle in to school

Glad to hear that things are going well so far! I hope this theme continues for the rest of the year :)

I'm loving all the year 12 privileges like the common room and being the oldest in the school
In my cohort, one of the highlights of year 12 was yelling at anyone from another year level trying to walk through the common room haha
