Not if you can pull A's-A+'s on the rest... for 40+ you are going to want at least a high A SAC average, and A+ for exams.
It's just one SAC, you have the rest of the year to get that grade average or class ranking up.

I don't know about physics, but I didn't have those grades in bio. I got A (low) and A+ (high) in the two exams and A+ in SACs (low) to get a 42. Getting an A+ in both exams is not necessary for 40+ (a classmate got A+ in both exams, A in SACs and got 39 last year).

I got A+ A+ A (sacs/midyear/endofyear) and got 38.

I'm still crying bullshit. If I could do the subject again this year, but without a minimum class attendance record, I will do it again and just do the assessments. I can still do everything perfectly fine :(

It's all about the exam, if you have ordinary sac marks and a good exam mark your score should be good. If you have  good sac marks and a crap exam mark your score won't be that good.

Yeah so how does that work exactly. Lets say i got shitty on the SACS, but on the exam i got higher than our highest SAC scorer did. Would that boost me up overall? Cause i did shit on my first sac aswell, predicting B-A

It could give you a higher SS score that the person with the highest SAC score. I know someone who was ranked about 4th in SACs and got a 40, which was the highest SS in the cohort.
However, if she had been ranked first in SACs, she was told she could have gotten ~43.
So you can do better than others, just maybe not as well as you could without a high SAC ranking.

A friend of mine got a+ for everything in bio last year and only got a 39, so I really think it depends on how things are scaled that year.
Dan15 (my older brother) programmed the ATAR calc.
