Ahh! Okay so basically I am applying to do 2 VCE subjects in year 10 and from some people I've talked to, I'm starting to get psyched out. Part of applying is putting down your preferences so initially, I was thinking 1. biology, 2. psychology, 3. legal studies but if I get my top two preferences will that be too much science as I also want to chemistry as a year 10 elective? Is doing 2 VCE subjects in year 10 even manageable?

I've maintained an A average for as long as I've been at high school and obviously, I don't expect that to stay the same, but I also don't want to do badly. I feel like even though they say you have time I'm planning out what subjects I want to do in year 11/12 as well! I'm finding it really hard to have a balance of subjects that qualify as being good prerequisites, subjects I enjoy and subjects that play to my strengths. If anyone of you could provide some insight and perspective, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks - Sarah  :)

By two vce subjects in year 10 I assume you mean two units 1/2 sequences in year 10? Which plenty of people have done.
Doing two 3/4s is probably a bit tougher for a year 10 to do but still possible.

I don't believe someone picking their subjects should be thinking about the spread of the types of subjects you do - I think you should just do the 2 subjects that you most want to do (obviously thinking about prerequisites too). If they overlap or in the field it doesn't matter too much (e.g. English and Literature or Methods and Specialist).
