Further Maths study score predictions

Hi Ya'll,
This question might be for the people in year 12 who have done Further maths In year 11, or for the people who have already completed year 12.
What marks did you receive for all three (GA) to get a study score around 40?

I'm anticipating that i will get A,A,B+ and am wondering how far off i would be by comparing to what past students achieved.
Also, how would getting an A on the written exam instead of a B+ change this score?

Thanks heaps, Joel

I believe A A and B+ is not enough for a 40

I wouldn't necessary compare GA grades because there's high A+, mid A+ and low A+ which can impact your ss.
To ensure you get a 40, you should be aiming for an A+ given the competitiveness of further so max 3 wrong on exam 1 and 6-7 wrong on exam 2
((this is my own interpretation of how ss is calculated))
Graduated in 2018. Top 5%.

That’s surprisingly low...
I would’ve expected higher for those scores. Weird.

If he gets 97/100 end of year after his rank has been accounted for and moderated by VCAA, surely he would be getting at least a 45?

do you have any past data to back this up? I heard its only rank 1 that gets -1 ss per mark lost

Last year our rank 1 got a 48 while 3 people under them within top 10 ranks got 50 and another got 49.

One of the people who got 50 averaged 90% throughout the year.

ETA: My understanding is that if a cohort is strong enough the top 10 or so ranks have their SACs scaled to near 100 giving all of them a shot at 50. Seems to have happened at our school last year.

Jemin’s school has one of the strongest cohorts in any subject across Vic. Perhaps he may have had a low rank that scaled to 97. Not too sure!

echoing Lear's comments above. In certain cohorts that are extremely strong it is possible that the top 15 are all equivalent to rank 1 as they scale to the same mark (100).
