Magnets are confusing!

Hey guys,

So I'm a little confused about something. Hopefully I can explain this well.

So there's a bell shaped magnet suspended vertically by a string, with the south pole in the middle.

The magnet is then lowered and "fed" through a coil of wire.

The coil is connected to a power supply and it's switched on. Once switched on the magnet is pulled down.

I'm confused as to where the location of maximum and minimum magnetic field strength is inside the bell shaped magnet.

I'm thinking that it's in the centre of the magnet but I'm not too sure why.

Help! :(
