SAC's

I was told by my Economics teacher that SAC's contribute 50% to study score but there are only 4 for the entire year.

Does anyone know how important are SAC's (ie ranking) to final study score.

Thanks.  :)

Well, SAC scores are moderated to your exam score and the exam scores of other people in your cohort. Here is an explaination: http://freestudynotes.com/VCEforum/index.php/topic,837.0.html

It's true that SACs are technically worth 50%, but it's really your moderated SAC score, which partly depends on your exam score. Really, what you are looking for in SACs is to be ranked number one in your class, because then the highest exam score in your class becomes your SAC score, regardless of whether the highest exam score was yours or not.

Your SAC's won't necessarily be just 4 for the year. A lot of SAC's are broken up into smaller SACS (eg. SAC worth 40 marks may be worth two 20 mark SACS) or are comprised of a folio of exercises.
Thats what we were told today and that goes with the trend that I found in Legal Studies last year.

Oh yeah, that's right. I think I ended up having about 6 Eco SACs last year.
