Will I struggle in methods?

Hi AN!

I am in year 11 in General maths (I couldn't do methods as it clashed with my 3/4 subject) and am averaging 90% on my tests with moderate effort.
Next year im planning on completing: English, Further, HHD, Psych and Legal however im considering changing HHD for methods. Would I struggle in methods next year?? Has anyone done this before?

Methods 3 & 4 would be extremely difficult without 1 & 2. There is a massive difference in difficulty and workload between Methods and Further.

It's not incredibly common (and definitely not recommended), but you can definitely jump into 3/4 methods without doing 1/2. I would suggest looking over the 1/2 and 3/4 methods content in your own time while you're still in year 11 so that you wouldn't be left too far behind if you were to start 3/4 next year.

General and methods are two very different maths subjects. I don't know what you learn in general but I don't think there is too big of an overlap in terms of content.

I'm doing methods 3/4 right now without having done 1/2, it was a very big jump at the start of the year and I almost dropped out because of how challenging it was. So if you are planning to do that, make sure you have a strong foundation.
