Sorry for dying for like two weeks. But I can't believe we have less than a month left till term 1 ends. I swear it feels like we only started the term last week. Oh yeah, I also got Economics President, so I'm really happy about that! I've started the club on a competition on the ASX Sharemarket Game, so it's gonna be exciting to look at who makes the most profitable portfolio. My tennis team also got into the semi finals which were yesterday, but we lost by a close margin. I was quite unhappy because I know I didn't play to the best of my ability and probably could have played a lot better. One thing I'm not looking forward to is 4 SAC's in the next 3 weeks...

Accounting: We finished looking at GST, and basically finished looking at specialised journals. This topic was pretty understandable because we covered basically all the specialised journals in Unit 2 last year. I've also got a SAC in 3 weeks, I'm feeling pretty hopeful and confident as I understand all that we've done so far, even though I may have to brush up a bit on my theory.

Economics: AoS 1 is basically finished, since we looked at market failures this week. Again, we haven't really covered any new content in this AoS, apart from elasticity. This means I'm able to know the content well since we covered it last year and I really grasped the concept. We're going to start looking at government failures next week, by when we'll have properly finished AoS. We've also got our SAC is 2 weeks, which I am not looking forward to, no matter how well I know my content. What's worse is that my economics SAC is on the same day as my Eng Lang SAC, so yeah...

Legal Studies: We've finished looking at most of Chapter 5 from the Justice and Outcomes textbook, with the exception of sanctions. We also have to cover the whole of chapter 5 before our SAC in 3 weeks. Our teacher had us do a practice SAC under test conditions. I found that pretty straight forward to be honest and think I did pretty decently. We should get our marks back tomorrow, but the other legal class got theirs back on Friday and the average was really low, so not sure what to make of that.

Methods: For once I feel glad I'm doing methods. I don't have a SAC for it this term, phew! I swear if I had a SAC for all my subjects in the span of a week, I would have gone mental. This is definitely my least liked subject, event though one of the reasons for me choosing it is because it's a pre-requisite for commerce. We should be looking at derivates, but our teacher wants to go through logs and exponentials before we do the derivates of them, which does make sense ahaha.

English Language: We're not really following a structure on what we're learning, so I'm a bit confused. We had a mini test on information flow, and I did pretty well and was happy. Our teacher started going through how to write an analytical commentary, and I was just analysing a text before posting this update. I'm not stoked either about the SAC we have in 2 weeks, or the fact that it's after school on a Friday, or the fact that it's almost 2 hours long...

Procrastinating by writing this, solid. I found out my legal SAC got moved to the same time as my accounting SAC next week, so I'm going to go try to get the accounting one rescheduled as I'd rather cram more theory after my economics SAC this Friday. On the upside, my Eng Lang SAC got moved back to next Friday, so that's a plus. I can't believe we only have 3 weeks until the term ends, I'm so forward looking to it.

Accounting- I'm sorta glad I chose this over GloPol right now, because there's mainly a practical aspect to accounting, albeit it does have a little theory. If most, if not all, my subjects were theory, I would have died. We've finished looking at specialised journals and have our SAC on chapters 1-6 (maybe 7- teacher isn't sure yet) next Tuesday. But because I've got a clash with legal, I'm going to try change it.

Economics- We've finished looking at AoS 1, which would be concerning if we hadn't given our SAC is in 4 days ahaha. I feel like I've got a pretty strong understanding of what we've done, from supply and demand to market failures and government failures. I'm also pretty confident going into the SAC, but just have to do a bit of brushing up before Friday.

Legal Studies- I feel bad for neglecting this since half-way last week until today, because I prioritised my other subjects over this. But I've done my notes on basically everything we've covered in class and have a good grasp on the concepts. I'm a little worried because apparently we are going to have reforms to laws on our SAC, but we haven't even finished the chapter before that on sentencing factors... Hopefully we don't get screwed and reforms won't be on the SAC.

English Language- I feel pretty good about my preparation for this, I wrote an AC last week and got pretty good feedback on it from my teacher. I wrote another AC yesterday and took into account his feedback and will give it to him to read tomorrow. We've also got a practice SAC tomorrow, so I'm hoping I can accurately see what areas I need to improve in.

Methods- I've been ignoring this even more than legal studies, maybe because we don't have a SAC for it this term. I'm not behind on the concepts or such, but just on the questions from the textbook we do. Overall, I'm not too bad with what we've learned so far, even if I would sometimes prefer we could just not learn anything new and be tested on like year 9 maths.

I had my economics SAC yesterday, which I guess I did decently in. I feel like I may have screwed up a mark or two, but considering the whole thing was only 20 marks, even that would be quite a lot. But now that eco is over, I can focus on the 3 other SAC's I have lined up next week... yay me, can't wait for hell week to begin. But apart from that, everything's been going pretty well. We were told we'll be getting our garment (rugby tops) in mid May, pushed back from the end of April, so that's a bit annoying. But don't even get me started on the issues just on the garments at our school.

In terms of subjects, there's not much to talk about since for 4 of them, we've just been revising for the SAC. Legal is a bit hectic though because we literally only finished the last topic that can be covered on the SAC on Thursday, so making notes and stuff was a bit annoying last minute. On the subject on SAC's, I couldn't get my accounting SAC because it took precedence over the legal one, so now I'll be doing accounting on Tuesday, legal on Wednesday, and eng lang on Friday.

Hey, I did bus man for Unit 1, but ended up switching to account for Unit 2. It was decent I guess, my teacher was really chill about it and everyone who did it basically considered it a bludge. But imo, 3/4 so far is easier to follow and understand than last year. If you understand everything but don't enjoy it, I personally would change subjects, because that's how I felt with bus man.

Okay, hell week for this term in now over, yay! I had my accounting SAC on Tuesday, which I feel I screwed up a bit of theory and one of the ledgers, because there was only one creditor and I wrote everything as creditors control instead of creditor-(name of individual creditor). Hopefully we'll get it back next week and I can see what else I need to improve on. Also, I found out this years SAC was basically the same as last years... but then again the psych SAC this year was the same as my one last year ahaha.

Legal was a bit of a rip, I knew all my stuff but I couldn't remember one other factor taken into consideration when sentencing an accused apart from mitigating and aggravating factors, but I remembered guilty pleas. I'm annoyed because the SAC was only 25 marks and that's 2 marks I already lost. Hopefully I wrote really well for the other parts so I can have a strong start to the year.

Eng Lang was yesterday, it was an actual rip for everyone. The text we got for our AC was so bad, like we couldn't analyse many features, so we couldn't write much in total. I'm not too certain about the short answer either, because one of the questions was confusing. But hopefully since most people did bad, I did less worse than them, and hopefully we get the SAC back before term ends.

We also got our economics SAC back yesterday. I guess I'm happy with how I went, since I got the equal highest mark with around 1/6 of the cohort. I'm a bit annoyed because I lost a mark on an easy question which I knew the answer to, but didn't include in my answer. But oh well, guess that just gives me an area to improve for next time.

I did BusMan 1/2 last year and absolutely hated it for the whole year. Now in 3/4 I absolutely love it and the content is so much better. Did you find it similar with accounting.

Yeah I guess you could put it that way to an extent. I didn't find the content in unit 2 accounting all that interesting, but what we're doing currently in 3/4 accounting is much more enjoyable for me.

Sorry for the prolonged absence :( I'll start off with the last week of term 1.

I got my other 3 SAC's back! I was kind of disappointed with accounting since I lost 8 marks, and I thought I would not lose more than 5. The SAC wasn't that hard or anything, and the theory wasn't complicated, but as a result of silly mistakes and not using relevant enough responses, I lost marks. But oh well, guess the harsher my teacher is right now, the better it will be for me during the exam. Speaking of my teacher, she's taking long service leave, which is quite unfortunate since her replacement is some teacher I (more rather, everyone) despises. He was our eco replacement last year as well, and we all know we're not going to be learning the rest of Unit 3 from him. We literally spend a double period going over one exercise from the workbook that we were supposed to do over the holidays, so we haven't even started on any new content yet...

On a little better note, I got what I expected for my legal SAC. I'm quite annoyed (constructively annoyed? if that's even a thing), even though I got a good score, I could have easily aced it had I not forgotten sentencing factors, rip. On a much better note, I got way more than I expected for Eng Lang. I somehow did amazing in short answer even though I lowkey thought I bombed it, lol. And because of that, my mark got carried to a decent mark despite my average AC.

Over the holidays, I'd be lying if I said I did much work. I basically took the whole first week off, and just chilled and was lazy. Even in the second week, I didn't do too much work (which I regret because it's all piling up now (who would've guessed right!). The start to school was as expected, even though the whole cohort is a bit salty that we still can't skip form assembly if we have a double free first two. So, we basically have to waste around 2 hours for a 10 minute form meeting where you just get your name marked off most of the time.

Now, onto subjects:
Legal:We've started looking at civil law, which is something I hope to pursue in the future, so far the content we're learning is pretty basic and just the fundamentals. What surprised me is how much it costs to have a case heard in court... For some matters, you literally won't be left with half the amount of damages you seek.
English Language: Due to crappy timetabling and school events, we only had one lesson of eng lang last week, and don't have another lesson until Thursday next week. So, our teacher just told us to prepare for the end of the year exam through building on our quote bank.
Accounting: Since we won't be learning any other Unit 3 content, I got a head start (however small) on the holidays in terms of the theory of the next chapter, so I've just been working through the exercises and concreting the way revenue and expense accounts are closed off for the P&L summary.
Economics: Holy, we're moving so fast through the content. We literally finished a whole chapter on Australia's macroeconomic goal of strong and sustainable economic growth in a week, a week... So far, I've just been furiously trying to understand the concept so I can make my notes to help me for the SAC we have in 3 weeks.
Methods: This is going so bad. We had a test on differential calculus on Friday, and I felt like I was so prepared and knew how to do what we were taught. Come to the test, and I wanted to start knocking my head on the table. Let's just say it was a complete fail. I'm also not looking forward to the methods SAC we have in 3 weeks time as well.

I'm hoping to get whatever I want to get done (mainly eco notes, eng lang quote bank and methods stuff) since I basically have a 4 day weekend (Saturday, Sunday, half day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). I'm probably not going to get any work done on Wednesday though because I'm going to see Infinity War with friends. Oml, I can't believe it's coming out, I'm so hyped for it.

We're in week 4 of term already... Wow. The SAC's and work are piling up now though, so at least that keeps me occupied and gets me amazed at how fast time has flied. I've got an accounting SAC coming up on Wednesday, and an economics and methods SAC next week. At least I have a day off tomorrow which'll allow me to fully prepare for accounting. Also, we still haven't gotten our garments yet, even though they were initially supposed to be delivered on Anzac Day, and now they're getting pushed to basically the end of May. :/ Moving onto subjects:

Methods: We've 'started' integration, but the majority of our time this term was just spent reviewing everything up to calculus in preparation for the project this week, and the SAC next week. I feel like completely giving up on methods (even though I do all the work and when I think I grasp a concept, I get stumped on a test), but I guess that'll really depend on how my SAC goes.
English Language: We've had sooo many disruption to our classes since the start of term. For example, we have a day off school tomorrow for parent teacher interviews, so we miss out on our double class. Factor things being similar to this since the start of the term, and I'd say we've had less than 10 classes in total for the term. In terms of content, we've started looking at formal language, and from what I can understand as of now, it shares features with informal, but the usage of said features is what differentiates the two.
Economics: I'm quite confident for this, and am hopeful for the SAC next week. But dang we've been moving sooo fast. We basically covered each macroeconomic goal in less than a week. I've been regularly going over my notes, as well as the dot points from the study design and can answer almost all for this AoS. I'm going to focus a bit more on eco after my accounting SAC on Wednesday, and actually start doing previous years' SAC's.
Legal: I'm starting to fall a bit behind in terms of content in this, mainly because I'm focusing more on the more pressing subjects which I have SAC's coming up for. But once they're all done, I'll catch up (I'm not thaaat behind, only like a 3 subchapters). Right now, we've started looking at civil pre trial procedures like pleadings and discovery, and also made a start on the court hierarchy.
Accounting: The replacement teacher was as hopeless as everyone predicted. He basically taught us nothing new, and wasn't even aware that we had a SAC last week... But apart from that issue, I'm feeling pretty confident about this as well. I've been keeping up to date with my practical work, and revise theory often and am able to apply it to questions. So, hopefully I'll go well come Wednesday.

Ooookay, so I've been gone for a really long time, oops. I will try my best to keep to a regular schedule from now on. We're almost at the end of the term, and I can't believe it! These past weeks have zoomed by, mainly because of the stresses associated with a piling up of SAC's. I also have tennis tomorrow, which I'm really looking forward to, but I probably won't play well because my ankle swell at recess today when my leg slammed into a cold cold concrete pillar  :-\ . I'll talk about individual subjects below (mostly complaining about SAC's), but I wanted to share this economics debate that I did.

So basically, my teacher asked me (since I'm Eco Club pres) whether I'd be interested, and heck yeah I was. It was just a normal debate, but with economic issues as the topics, and instead of the matter being 40% like normal, it was 60%. It was a pretty fun day, and my school entered 2 teams (me, a friend, and another friend were one team). We versed PLC for the first round, and were gracious enough to be in the presence of the author of our textbook, so my friend was just fanboying over him. We managed to win by a point, and versed Fintona for the next round. This was a pretty good debate too and we managed to win this as well. That meant we were in the semi-finals (unexpected because we just prepared literally the night before for the debate). It was a close debate but unfortunately we lost by a point. :( Alas, our school's glory was reignited since our other team, who also got into the semi's, managed to win and got to the finals, where they won!

Legal: We just had our SAC on AoS2 on Wednesday. Everyone basically did badly because we felt we were really rushed for time and weren't given enough time especially due to the mark allocation, which consisted of 2 two markers, a five marker, a six marker and a ten marker. Basically everyone agreed even 5 minutes extra would have made all the difference in the world. But hopefully since the teachers know the time restriction, they'll mark accordingly. Anyway, this is the only subject we've finished Unit 3 in and made a start on Unit 4. We started learning about the Constitution yesterday, which was something we covered last year as well, so it's something I'm looking forward to as I found it interesting.

Economics: We also had a SAC for this like 2 (maybe 3) weeks ago. I guess I'd be really really nitpicky if I said I wasn't happy with my result because it helped me maintain my rank 1... I feel bad because one of the multi choice I got wrong was related to something our teacher explicitly told us about, but I interpreted the question in a different way. :( We started AoS3 right after going the SAC, and oh boy, we've moved so fast we've finished Unit 3 today. While I am behind in eco because I had to revise for the Legal SAC, thankfully AoS3 is only one chapter (albeit it being 30 or so pages). But, we have another SAC for it in less than 2 weeks. :(

Accounting: Soo, even though the replacement teacher provides a great source of entertainment, everyone wants our normal teacher back. He literally goes over exercises in the workbook and spends maybe 5 minutes teaching us the actual content. After doing the SAC 2 weeks ago, I felt pretty confident as I looked at similar questions and my responses were basically the same as the correct answers. Come today, when we get our SAC back, he's marked me and the rest of the class down. There was a question on saying one use of stock cards, and he essentially gave everyone 1 out of 2 marks because we all only gave one answer instead of two... We all asked the other accounting teacher to re-check this, so hopefully that will get fixed. But other than that, we have a massive SAC for this in two and a bit weeks too, rip.

Methods: I'm not even going to talk about the last SAC, it was that horrendous. In terms of content, we've basically covered integration, and are preparing for, are you ready, another SAC in two weeks! I've really gotta catch up on this since it's my most neglected subject.

English Language: Just when I thought I couldn't get any more SAC's... We have a SAC next week! But I feel confident and prepared for this. I wrote a formal AC on Wednesday night and last night, and gave both to my teacher to mark over the weekend. In terms of content, I shouldn't be too bad since the SAC is just on formal language, and has the same format as the first where we only have short answer and an AC. Our teacher has also started teaching us how to structure and write the essay, which I am finding the most challenging by far.

I'm done with SAC's for the term, woohoo! The past week or two have been quite chill, since I've had multiple 'holidays'. 2 weeks ago week, I had Tuesday off well since I didn't have a SAC, and basically had a 4 day weekend. I had last Friday off as well since no SAC's, and seniors basically had today off. So while this term is '12 weeks', it probably was only like 10 weeks for me. We also finally got our Year 12 Garments! Even though they're not hoodies as everyone wanted (school thinking hoodies are way too informal and if we wanted them, we could only wear them after we finish trial exams...), they don't look too bad. The insignia has a really nice finish, but it's kind of funny because the producer of our garments kept the insignia the same size for different sizes. So, a person wearing an extra small would have a relatively large insignia comparative to a person wearing an extra large (If anyone wants to see to design, lemme know and I'll post a picture of it). Also, I can't believe Unit 3 is over, I seriously don't feel almost half a year has passed, and that I'd be finished with exams and school in less than 5 months... My subject discussion is just going to be me talking about how I went with my SAC's.

English Language: The short answer part was quite tricky, and I spent wayy too much time doing them (although I did the exact same thing for the last SAC as well...). There was a question about political correctness which I was stuck on, so I ended up basically b'sing most of it. The extract we got for the AC was quite easy to talk about since it was a mix of formal and informal, and had many features to analyse.

Economics: I'm quite happy with how I went, since I understood everything, wrote what the question needed (hopefully), and elaborated a bit beyond. Knowing how gun of a teacher we have, we'll probably get it back tomorrow (seeing we only did it last Thursday).

Legal: Haven't touched this since the SAC, lmao.

Methods: Yeah, quite obviously my worst subject. I felt I did enough preparation for the SAC we had on everything up to integration, but still struggled. I went decent on the tech free, and answered everything (even though it may be wrong), but hit a bump on tech active since I spent too much time on one question and as a result left quite a bit unanswered. I'll work on doing some more tech active application questions, and hopefully that'll improve my ability to understand these sort of questions.

Accounting: I spent my 3 day weekend prepping for this. It's a bit difficult to know how and what to write right now, because I know what my original teacher would want in terms of quality, but that doesn't seem to suffice for the replacement teacher we have for the term... We all can't wait until next term when she comes back, and constantly joke about throwing a party when she comes back, ahaha. But the actual SAC was a bit ehhh, even though it was the exact same as last years (again)... There were a few questionable questions, since one of them required us to calculate the depreciation expense of a non-current asset, and gave us basically just accumulated depreciation, historical cost and depreciation rate, but not the reporting period... I also found out I screwed up a question asking us about GST clearing because instead of saying 'GST received on cash sales', I said 'Cash sales', which I'm quite annoyed about.

Great update! Really keen to see a picture of your garment; I honestly don't even know what an insignia is haha.

EDIT: Just looked it up. Nice word!
