Hi,

My name is Sarina and I am here to help you with Frankenstein! I am offering 10-12 x 1.5hr sessions over the course of summer to thoroughly read and study Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. The sessions will be done in a group setting with a maximum of 4 passionate students. If you are the only person applying, I am again happy to do 1-1 free!

I studied Frankenstein in 2016 by myself, that is my school did another book and I independently chose to study this novel. Since reading it in 2015, I feel utterly in love with this book and have been obsessed with it ever since. So, commemorating the 4th (and perhaps the final year) of this book being included in the booklist I have decided to pass on my knowledge to you, the incoming English/EAL students and help you achieve your best.

SO, why free? I think that anyone can sit by themselves to study the book and what I am offering whilst may not be easily accessible to students can be done without tuition. I'd also like to help the students who feel that they may not be able to afford $$$ classes due to personal reasons.

When and where will the sessions be run?
They are likely to run on weekdays except Wednesdays for now. I am currently thinking 4:30-6pm. The sessions will take place at a private library project room at the University of Melbourne.

What will happen in the sessions?
My current plan is:
  • 1hr: Read the novel for - discuss ideas main points etc
  • 30min:Work on themes, supplement understanding
Also another goal I have in mind, is for the group to collectively write a free study guide sharing it on ATARNotes (but we'll see about this one)

So if you are a passionate student studying Frankenstein in 2019, fill out this google form: (your responses will be safe)
