IF ANYONE IS HERE ON THIS FORUM CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE?!?!

Ok, so I know that this media forum has been dead for ages, but I would be super happy if anyone could help me out!

SO I'm doing 3/4 Media and am going to create a magazine. I just got a Macbook Pro and I don't have any good editing software for either photos/magazines. I know that adobe Photoshop/InDesign are perhaps the best for editing both  images and magazines (respectively), but I don't want to spend so much money for  programs ill probably only use this year.

In short, are there any good editing software that I could download (preferably for free) to create a professional looking magazine? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am not doing Media as a VCE subject but I did do it in year 10 and am 100% sure that Adobe InDesign is what's used to make professional magazines, calendars...etc. I've used it before myself and I made a really cool looking calendar for my Media class :3 .
As above mentioned you can get illegal copies online but I would not recommend that. Sorry I wasn't able to help. :/

yeah, some of my friends suggested that but i don't feel comfortable downloading illegally

don't worry you did help me a bit! if i need to, i'd be open to buy indesign for a year. Its nice to hear that indesign does allow people to create professional looking calendars/magazines from someone else
