Japanese S/l

Hey, I'm a student in year 11 doing Japanese 3/4. I am almost finished writing my script for GC, and have started a bit on the script for DS. How long should the script for GC be, and how many questions should i answer? (I'm at about 9,000 for GC with about 70 questions, and am aiming to be at around 12-14,000 with 100 questions.)
For DS, I might prepare (40~50 questions, with a total of 8,000 words.) any input is appreciated, cheers.

You should be more than fine. If anything, it seems like on they're on the long side. For reference, my DS script was about 4 000 characters long with maybe 20 questions, I believe. I can't give exact figures for general conversation since I didn't compile them into one document, but I do know that my friend had a ~10 000 character long script for GC, and ~4 000 characters for DS.

Of course, bear in mind that you'll realistically never be able to cover even a fraction of those responses in the actual exam (I was rushed a bit during my DS, personally).

Thanks for the reply, I've just finished my GC which is about 13,000 words. I've done 1,000 words on my DS so far, and I've realized that there's realistically not enough for more than ~4,000-6,000 words with the narrow topic I'm doing (Instagrammable). Just out of curiosity, how well do you need to do roughly on the exam for a 40+ and for a 45+? My practice exams so far I have gotten between 80%-85% so I'm not sure where that'll get me. Just like you, I'll try and get my name on the VCE hall of fame.

Depends on the year (and oral), but about 65/75 on the written exam for a 40 SS, and 70/75 for a 45 SS, (this is if you also have good oral exam scores also).

Hey, thanks to everyone for the advice. I managed to surprise both myself and everyone around me by getting a raw 46 in JSL!
