Hi guys,

Does anyone know how difficult it will be to undertake 'Foundations of Computing' with absolutely zero prior knowledge in computing.

Much appreciated,
Lachie

Hey Lachie,

The course outline for COMP10001 (Foundations of Computing) states the following:

"This subject teaches students with little or no background in computer programming how to design and write basic programs using a high-level procedural programming language, and to solve simple problems using these skills."

So you shouldn't at all be disadvantaged if you don't know computing!

If you'd like some more detail on how past ATAR Notes users have found the course, we have a University of Melbourne subject review thread which you can find HERE. They contain feedback and advice from past students who have done the course.

COMP10001 has actually been reviewed over 6 times in our subject review thread, so I've also directly linked them here (but be sure to check out the main thread for the most up to date reviews):

COMP10001: Foundations of Computing (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6)

Hope this helps!

Justin
