I strongly recommend you to get some sort of head start in comparison to your fellow classmates. Whether you complete the whole of unit 1/2 or only unit 1, or even just Chapter 1, you are doing yourself a great favour in the long run. Trust me, from personal experience, if you independently study ahead of the class you will by all means have an incredible understanding of the content which will make life easier for you in Year 12. This all comes down if you want to do well in the subject or not...

So, complete 1/2 on the holidays? If you want a good study score for methods, then go ahead!
Also, If you need help with methods hit me up!!

Advisable or no?

Advised if you can be motivated and doing so without burning out.

It's good to start the year relatively fresh, so bear that in mind :)

No no and no for me.

I guarantee you will be able to get through units 1/2 without pre-studying for them. 3/4 I would advise it, but seriously your holidays would probably be better spent out in the sunshine and also reading through your school texts and simply revising things you found hard MAYBE.

I would only recommend pre-reading if you are particularly weak at a specific science area - then that might be a good idea.

yeah defiantly agree here. What i'd do holidays is look over some of your year 10 stuff, and even go back to year 7, know your fractions etc, know indices (year 10) etc.

People say do chapter 1/chapter 2 etc, whats the point? im sure you know linear graphs and quadratics and even then, its not taxing to get taught in class. Rest up, its "holidays"

It's an excellent idea to get your head around the fundamental concepts and tackle some of the exercises you feel you need some refining on, but as hamo94 said, just be wary of not burning yourself out.

Otherwise, go right ahead!

EDIT: Actually, not necessarily finish, but an overview is recommended.
