Is it acceptable to use pencil on methods exams?

Yes but I would not recommend.

Two reasons why:

1. Sometimes the pencil may not be picked up by vcaa's scanners when they scan the exams. (thats why there is a "NO WRITING SECTION" that they cut to remove the staples and scan)

2. Using pencils is a false sense of hope, it means you think your going to make mistakes. It takes longer to rub out your mistakes, then to cross them out with a pen.

HOWEVER
Do use them for sketching diagrams and graphs but I would strongly suggest to go over them in pen.

I thought this was the idea with science exams, not maths exams and that pencil was suggested for maths?

I'm not saying don't use pencil, it's entirely up to your and it's legal.

I'm saying I wouldn't use pencil, purely because of those things. I would however use it for graphing~especially for addition of ordinates.

Methods Exams don't get scanned.
