Are the NHT exams significantly easier for Specialist?

I've scored around 75% on most of the Australian VCAA specialist exam 2s I've done (though it's been a while since I've completed one in full), but I took an NHT exam today and nearly full-marked it. There didn't seem to be any real differentiating questions on it, and a lot of the multiple-choice seemed like much more simple variations on the normal multiple-choice section. To be fair, there was some content I just hadn't studied yet when I was taking the Australian ones, but there were a few questions that really pushed me to think despite knowing everything required for the question, whereas the NHT one was super straightforward. The Methods NHT exams actually seemed more challenging than the normal ones for me, so I was a little surprised by this. Thoughts?
