starting physics unit 2 without unit 1

Hi everyone, I just wanted some advice on year 11 physics. I'm starting unit 2 physics without doing unit 1, and I'm really nervous as I know everyone else in my class probably has a sounder knowledge in physics than me. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips and tricks as to how I can stay on top of the workload and not be disadvantaged due to my lack of exposure to the class work and content (what topics should I try to teach myself over the holidays). I have recently started a physics tutor who seems really great and understands the situation I am in, and I have requested my school to set up an edrolo account for me so I can catch up on the content. I am just really really really nervous about starting physics, and some advice from you guys would be seriously appreciated
- THANKKK YOUUUU :) :)

I don't recon it would be to hard...
There aren't a lot of concepts that I can see will carry through to Unit 2.
For our school, Unit 1 was all just the Thermodynamics, Electricity, and a little touch on decay out of Nuclear Physics.
Dunno whether your school is same or different... My school is generally unique :D

The attached study design might help if you haven't checked it out already...
It's basically all motion, with the other optional areas of study.

Good Luck! ;)

Hey thanks!!
I'll brush up on Thermodynamics, Electricity and Nuclear Physics before unit 2 :)
It's just a very daunting subject, and I'm really worried that I won't be able to catch up. But thank you!!!!!!

I definitely agree with you mate. We did the same thing in Unit 1, and Unit 2 is largely Motion, very little related to the Unit 1 topics. It is largely maths, so if you are good at/enjoy maths, it's certainly a good idea for you. You'll be fine. Enjoy it mate!

Youll be fine. Some people I know of are skipping unit 1 (and the school is finr woth that) and starting at unit 2 so they can explore other electives.
