Confusion about binomial notation

Hi Guys, So I've been taught to do the binomial notation like this, which is from Margaret Grove:


Helping me resolve this big confusion that has been stressing me out soo much would mean a lot to me. Thank You!!!

In the HSC (and in the real world) nobody cares which convention you use for the notation. So you can use whatever you prefer.

You will never be asked a question that states “write down \( T_k \)” because in the real world that’s just gibberish. It’s just a placeholder expression for computations such as the greatest coefficient and etc
