hey just curious, see i've started my legal book up 2 chapter 3 right during the holidays and i see alot of the cases and parliamentary acts. Ive memorized most so far but just wondering how many do we have to memorize. i meane there's like an enormous amount of cases and alot alot of acts so which ones do we focus on. Oh yer nd for the acts, do we jus remebr the cases purpose is name and its yr. e.g. Victorian stevedoring & genral company co v digman 1931- the court states the purpose of the division of powers b/w the governing bodies.
do we hve to remember all this: Victorian Stevedoring and General Contracting Company Pty Ltd v Dignan Informant [1931] HCA 34; (1931) 46 CLR 73 (2 November 1931). or jus the name date and purpose.
thnx heaps legal boys/girls

don't bother with the citation.

Generally, you just need to know the name of the case; the reason as to why it is a case; what the outcome has caused as a result, then relate it back to the question.

OMG you don't have to remember so many Acts and cases name! If you get a good teacher, s/he will probably tell you which are the important ones for you to remember. It's not like they give you an example of a court case and ask which Act should be referred to. You normally use them as examples to illustrate your point in an answer. From what I can remember, Unit 3 Area of Study 1 hardly needs any examples for the type of questions that pop up.
