hey guys,
i've been doing the insight, lisachem and tssm practice exams, and i'm not sure of their degree of difficulty in comparison to other companies' exams. how are you all finding the practice exams that you've been doing, and how easy/challenging have their questions been?

I wouldn't really invest much trust in the TSSM exams. I remember from last year that they were ridiculously easy compared to the VCAA exams. They required little depth of knowledge and were generally pretty light on. I think I did a TSSM exam in about twenty minutes and got close to 100%

neap is good. found a lot of mistakes in stav exams and think that they're pretty crap in general. tssm was rather easy. vcaa papers are your best go since they're properly written and not the wording of the questions don't confuse you (cause they can't since they have to be considerate of ESL kids) =]

VCAA: Easy, relevant

I would hope that VCAA produces "relevant" exams. There would be something seriously wrong if they didn't lol.

Yeah, I would be scared. Funny how it's 'easy', so it's cool :D

TSSM is really easy.... I got full marks for multi's TSSM 2007 (from Erinys exam post)

and straight after the same time i only got 35/44 in the STAV 2005 multi's ...there were a fair few random and confusing questions (this was also from erinys exam post)

Personally i think NEAP practice exams are relitively easy. I bought a booklet of practice exams and i almost always get full marks.

Otherwise, VCAA past exams are the best, yet there are only so many past exam you can get from the VCAA website, without doing them twice.

Plus there are only 3 past exams that are within the current study design.

I think that NEAP or STAV are the hardest compared to VCAA standards.

I think NEAP is as close as you can get to the VCAA exams. STAV is kind of insane.

Hmmm, this year it must be different. I haven't gotten around to doing my pre-2008 Neaps and STAVs yet, but based on my performance on the 2008 ones, STAV was easier. However, the questions are less VCAA-style (e.g. tables in multiple choice)

STAV exams should be thrown in a fire and laughed at for their stupidity.
