TNC case study

Hi everyone, I have to write up a case study for a TNC (Shell Nigeria). I have to analyse the aims, roles and power of the organisation (dot points for each). The problem is that I am confused about the difference between the aims and the roles of the organisation.

I found on Shell's website:
"As one of the world’s leading energy companies Shell plays a key role in helping to meet the world’s growing energy demand in economically, environmentally and socially responsible ways."
But that's not everything, right? What about generic TNC things such as creating jobs, maximising profit for the shareholders, providing FDI, etc?

Basically, I'm not sure what belongs under 'aims' and what goes under 'roles'?

Any advice would be great!
