Title: Reading time during exams
Post by: clarice on September 10, 2019, 03:52:55 pm
I was doing my mathematics prelim paper today and I was using my ruler to measure a diagram, a teacher came up to me and told me that I wasn't allowed to touch any stationary during reading time. Does anyone know if that's true?

I mean, I get if we aren't allowed to write things during reading time - but was using my ruler to measure things not allowed during reading time?

Thanks

Hey,
Welcome to the forums!! :)

Quote from: NESA rules guide
You will have set reading time for each paper. During this time, you must not write, use any equipment, including highlighters, or mark your paper in any way.
During the reading time in your exams, you can't use any stationary or equipment such as rulers, calculators or highlighters.

Hope this helps!  :D

Hey clarice!

Another ATAR Notes thread had a similar question, though, this one is full of strategies you could use during your reading time ;D (https://atarnotes.com/forum/index.php?topic=180448.0)

I always spent my reading time looking at the hardest questions, and trying to mentally solve them.
