Yay that you can come to the meetup!!! :))
I personally had a set of ConnectEd notebooks but I never actually used them (my school gave them to me basically), your experience may be different! :)

What was your favourite thing about VCESS? :)

I'm seeing ConnectEd books for around $20 each. Worth it?

to
Too many things to count ;D Biggest thing might just be the general atmosphere of it. Everyone there actually wants to be there so people were actually trying and being supportive. My school's known for dropkicks so it was a giant change that'll be painful to adapt back from  :'(
Got tonnes of great advice and resources for my subjects too which is nice  ;D

I had a bit of a captain's hook (a look) and that's about 1/2price. Up to you if you think they're worth it :) (I can't give a true opinion of them myself obviously + I basically lived off the AN books in my year 12 year :'))

I'm glad to hear that about the atmosphere and the advice/resources! Adjusting back to the school environment- maybe you'll inspire people with that attitude and create the atmosphere, you never know! :)

Make the best of the last few days of break and best of luck for the start of the school term! :)

22nd January 2019

Finally finished getting all of my Business Management books  ;D Went and picked up a used Cambridge BusMan 3&4 textbook today for $30. Already had the PDF of it but it'd nice to have the physical book as well. Had a rough time yesterday with an A+ BusMan exam book I bought at Wyndham Vale, seller said it was up-to-date but found out on the way home it was for the old study design! Had to go back again to swap it for 10 relevant practice exams for $1 each which I think is a good deal  ;D

Finally started taking notes and studying BusMan this morning at 4:30, went to like 9:30  ;D Probably not the best but I got in the zone.
Just made a PowerPoint presentation on sole traders & partnerships. I'll upload it with this if anyone wants to check it out / make sure I'm not writing nonsense half the time  ;D Just need to consolidate everything into my summaries book eventually.

Nervous about tomorrow, the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) results come out at 12:00 AEDT / 10:00 JST. Took the N2 but it's really just up to pure luck at this point to be honest  :'(

So that we don't derail your thread any more in Japanese (and for the benefit of others reading your journal), let's continue talking in Japanese at this link --> https://atarnotes.com/forum/index.php?topic=183664.0

Just starting to realise how much I'm gonna miss VCESS...

The way you've described VCESS has made me wish I went! It sounds like it was an amazing experience and I'm glad you gained so much from it! Are you pleased with your results? I'm sure you did very well. How are you feeling about school starting in a few days? How are you planning to tackle the workload?

Rest well during these final days.

I absolutely loved VCESS! Learnt a lot from it in terms of content and study tips (+ had lots of fun  ;D)
I feel more prepared than I was going into Year 11. Taking Year 12 a lot more seriously since I really didn't do well in Year 11 outside of my test results (got good results but nearly failed a few subjects because of the coursework)  :'(
Have a lot more resources now and bigger support networks which I'll probably depend on later on in the year  ;D

28th of January 2019

Wew! Sister's birthday yesterday so that was fun. Damn whisky's hard to drink but the burn's nice  ;D
Really excited for the ATARNotes meetup tomorrow at the Carlton Gardens!! Couldn't make ANZACs so I'll just bring in a bag of Smiths ^^;
Unexpectedly got a text from my boss to come in to work when I hadn't worked there in over a year. Just for the one four-hour shift. Not getting regular shifts again sadly, the regular had just taken a sickie. Was really really really nervous about going into work since I always stuffed up  :'( But it went better than expected. Things usually go better than anxiety wants you to think they'll go  ;D

30th January 2019

Wow... first day back as Year 12 and the pressure's already taking hold. First SAC (that I'm aware of so far) is a BusMan SAC in the third week (11 ~ 15th of February). Already starting to feel overwhelmed even though nothing's really started yet  :'(
Did form a study group for English Language though which is nice  :D
Just need to catch up on some Further Maths stuff which I neglected forgot about over the holidays. Not too much and it's relatively easy  ;D

ATARNotes meetup @ Carlton Gardens yesterday was sooo fun! Took some Polaroids but I forgot to scan them today... I want to promise them by tomorrow but I'll just have to promise to try at this point  :'( Sorry!!! Thanks to everyone that came (not gonna lie I don't remember names well at all so sorry if I don't remember who you were  :'( I can't even remember names of classmates I've shared classes with for years)!! Looking forward to 2020's meetup (or any other meetup someone decides to host. Heard someone's hosting a pool party  ;D)

I tend to be pretty bad with names myself but for in future here are some tips that are generally helpful:
remembering names
- use the person's name back to them a few times recently after you've heard it.
- learn something about them
- occasionally use their name while talking
- mentally summarise to yourself at the end of the convo
(eg. You: Hey, what's your name btw? Didn't catch it ealier
Them: Oh that's alright, I'm "Them"
You: Them?
Them: Yep!
You: Great! Nice to meet you, Them.
*ask question about them - hopefully something that gives you more info about them than "how are you?" *

Remembering names is a skill you can develop over time - it takes practice but it's certainly not something you always have to struggle with
I'm glad you enjoyed the meetup and it was good to see you there!

Year 12 does get more intense as the year progresses but you also get more used to being in year 12, so I'd try not to read too much into feeling pressure now. Who knows - the pressure could even be a sign of motivation to do well and thus be good. :)

7th of February 2019

Wew... sorry for not updating this in a good while. Things have really started to pick up.

Already behind in a few of my subjects and will fall behind soon if I don't get into gear soon so I have to juggle five subject's work at once. I really hope this isn't what it's gonna be like for the rest of the year  :'(
That and personal issues have made it a really hard week-and-a-day.

Still a bit quite behind but a lot less stressed about it all than I was a few days ago  :'( Got a bit hard not to break down a few times.

Can't find my Japanese SL worksets and I think I lost $50 that I earnt the other day  :'(

Probably gonna need to work my arse off this coming weekend... helping my sister and her boyfriend move on Saturday before I go to UoM for a BusMan study meetup for the U3 AOS1 SAC we have Monday week.

Really really sorry for not getting the Polaroids up  :-[ I thought I'd scanned them already but it never got through.

Getting back into the routine of school won't happen instantly, but stay with it! It's completely understandable that you feel a little overwhelmed and behind right now, but I urge you to realise that those around you are most likely in the same boat. Keep persevering; I promise you'll begin to feel more comfortable as the term progresses.

I feel like once I get over the first phase of work it'll be a lot easier. I've just failed to really plan and organise for anything... was a bit too optimistic  :'(
I just feel like I need at least a day's break from everything but I know I can't afford that as I'm already really behind in pretty much everything. Just have to push though it and deal with the consequences after I do.

Just feels really bad having to make compromises already... in terms of personal things and school subjects. Do I want BusMan to be late, or Japanese?
