I have my specialist SAC on Wednesday and have to do my statement of intention for English creative by Friday. I'm getting my English and chemistry SACs back this week. I'm a but nervous since I know I did badly on chemistry, whilst everyone else that has been getting their SACs back have done well. However, I know I that being nervous won't change my mark and that I just need to do my best.

Done with four of my SACs!  :) :) :)

Have Bio next Wednesday  :(, but was quite happy with my result for my accounting SAC (97% :D). Still have english, chem and further maths to receive back, but the teachers said that I did quite decent in them  :).

So, I just got my Physics SAC grade via email and it is an A to A+. I don't know if it is bad or good?

But I'm done with all my SACs this term. so that's good

Hey Guys,
Soo i know this isn't directly the right thread to talk about this but i don't know where else to post this because its about my life and in a way it is my journal? Anyway, so last Friday, I had this biology SAC. It was kinda hard and i honestly blanked out for a few mins. Came out of my class shaking. In my school, we have quite a few classes for bio and we had it at different times of the week and this week as well. I used my weekend to forget about everything and focus on this week's tests etc. Today, another class was going to have their SAC and a few of the year 11 boys who are doing bio are in my chem class. The thing that shocked me is the fact that they were talking about the exact same questions that were going to be in the SAC  and writing it all in their logbook. It would be accurate to say that they knew all the questions. I know that VCE is partly luck but i feel like this is unreasonable. So my question is, is it wise to just neglect what happened today and carry on with life? Or is it better to tell a teacher? Thanks in advance.

Well SACs do contribute to your study score and the fact that these students knew the questions beforehand is a bloody travesty and completely unethical, not to mention how completely stupid someone was to tell them. Fortunately for me, we did our bio SACs in common time and we didn't have this issue, so I'd suggest you ask a teacher if it is possible to have SACs in common time to avoid this unscrupulous behaviour. Aside from that it's a difficult situation to resolve. It's quite ironic that they care so much about doing well in the SAC but don't realise this is putting them at a disadvantage in the exam as they won't know how to prepare for something where they don't know the questions in advance and won't know their weaknesses. To resolve the situation you could consult your parents as to what you should do as they have a lot of life experience and want the best for you. I wish you nothing but luck in destroying those bloody cheaters in bio!

If I were in your position, I'd be bringing it up with a teacher I trusted.

Well, the people who cheat might get a good SAC score, but this will get dragged down by their exam score as they probably won't do very well in their exams. Don't worry though, at my school, this happens a lot, particularly when we have assessments that are not in common time. Another thing that I realised is that a person might do really well in their SACs (rank 1) but are generally not rank 1 in their study scores, or may not even get a study score of 40+.

That will affect your Biology cohort, and that's unfair. I'd bring it up with a teacher, and talk about the possibility of all the Biology classes doing their SACs at the same time after school in the future.

Got my chemistry and English SACs back today. I'm really happy with chemistry.   ;D I got an A+ for a SAC that I thought I stuffed up (I thought my answers were different to everyone else, but turns out it just looked different because I wrote it in scientific notation. I also felt like I rushed through it, but turns out I still got a lot of them right). But I wasn't really happy with my English score.  :'( I got an A, but I really want a 45+ for English, so I know it isn't good enough. Also, I really hate that for my school, although the SACs get cross marked, my teacher who is a really harsh marker gets the last say on my SACs. Quite a few people got C+ for their SACs in my class, whilst other classes had no or a couple of people get C+. What makes it worse is that my teacher is the English coordinator, so I can't complain about it to anyone. But, I'm going to try harder for my next SAC and hope that I get that A+ next time.
