hey guys,
ummm... i have a SAC comming up on mon, and the teacher refuses to look at any draft or to even simply tell me im on the right path. I mean come on- i didnt have this teacher last year for psych i dont really know what her standards are (shes new to the school). Is this just my teacher or is that with every one else? For god sake she wont even bother to glance at it- and she goes on and says i stress to much just because i, unlike of the rest of the students take the subject seriously. I am just hating this teacher right now!  :tickedoff: I wasn't even showing her all aspects of the SAC just the intro.

.....Anyways i have posted the intro part of the SAC, can some one please glance through it and tell me if its okay or not?

I think they do it cause they don't want to compromise the SAC...

I could look it I suppose, but I think Eriny or Nick is far more qualified than I am. (I will have a read to it though)

:O Seriously, do you sit in the back of my psychology class? Our class is doing EXACTLY the same ERA Sac for Outcome 2. Our teacher is new, and useless and hasnt taught me anything!!

I had a look at your draft. You have roughly gone over what you need to state in the introduction, but not to an extent in which you are required.

Are you writing up your ERA on Brunner and Minturns (1955) experiment on the ambiguous B/13 figure,or is that your refference to past research?

OMG so we can relate. I usualy dont talk this way about teachers but i am sick of her! She gave us absolutley NO guidance. What did you think it was missing?

Also should psych classes be up to atleast AOS3 by now? because i though we were behind

you're lucky that you get to do your introduction outside of class...our school did everything in class

I think u misunderstood me, we DONT get to do ANY part of our SAC at home to use during the real SAC (which is normal)- i did that for my own personal practise. The thing is all other my other freinds i know (at other schools)- at least where allowed to receive some kind of indication from their teacher. Hell i would be happy if she simply nodded her head.

As for Erinys ERA it is really good but considering on how much space i think we are going to be given, it is actually way too long. No other SAC i have ever sat did not allow for atlest some questions. I guess i should not really be mad but im just a little frustrated considering that i have3 SACS on monday!

Lol. Well the thing is, i go 'ahead' in class because i know that the teacher doesnt really teach the class to an extent of what we are supposed to be learning. Thats why i use Study Notes and attened Psych holiday classes to keep ahead. :) Personally, i'm up to 'sleep' in AOS3 and my class are only starting states of consciousness next week- if she teaches it next week. (apparently wer are having a class party??) btw- what school are you at?

but yeah, i also recommend Eriny's ERA for a basis. I have also seen hers and based my format the way she has written it and when i did ask for my teacher to 'check' it, she said it was of a very high standard. so do that!

As i said, your ERA was good, but i wasnt sure what your actuall experiment was, so i couldnt help you anymore. Also in your intro define 'context'- because the ERA is based around conext and perceptual set. For mine i also defined Visual Perception, because context influences an individuals visual perception.

:):):)

I quickly skimmed over it, however I don't have a lot of time to comment on it ...sorry

God job. It's pretty good. However, you're not quite clear enough... :)

In the introduction, you state: The perceptual sets are our predisposed predisposition to perceive the world according to our expectations.

You've used the same word twice which means exactly the same thing, and you need to clearly define perceptual sets. You need to stress it's a theory, and that is not what the theory states.

The aim of the study conducted by the year 12 psychology students of Antoine college was to ‘examine whether context had an effect on perceptual set’.

This sentences contradicts your previous definition in your intro.... although I may be wrong.
Also, I suggest you write your own aim rather than quoting, like:
"The aim of this investigation is to determine whether context has an effect on perceptual set"
(You need to define what 'context' means...)

"The study made use of the context in which the perceptual sets where shown, the perceptual image shown was that of an inconspicuous “B 13” image. "

'the study'? What study? Your study? Someone else's study? If you are describing your own study, you must instead use this information in 'method'.
(Also, you used the wrong 'were'. :))

I think you need to develop more coherency, as the only individuals which will be able to fully comprehend the nature of the investigation are people who were involved, or solely the author.

Remember: You should aim to write a prac report in a comprehensive or clear manner to ensure readers who have no prior knowledge on the subject or study will be able to fully understand what the study entailed. You should never assume that your reader knows as much as you do, and it should be your intention to inform them and keep them engrossed in your investigation.

Good luck! Hope it helped and hope I gave you the correct information. Feel free to disagree.

Not necessarily. I'm doing Outcome 2 (ERA also, but a different experiment) tomorrow, and we've stuck with the Psychology timetable my teacher made... However, based on previous topics here it does seem that other schools are in front.

As for Erinys ERA it is really good but considering on how much space i think we are going to be given, it is actually way too long.
Hmm, depends. If you know everything you're going to talk about, then you should be fine. Excluding the appendix/table/graph, there's about four pages typed in Eriny's ERA. I think I can manage about seven pages written in 90 minutes...
How long do you have to write the ERA?
