Hallo meine Freunde!
After being inspired by
Vox's accountability thread for learning Cantonese and realising how lazy I've been this uni break, I've decided to start this accountability thread.
Back story: I've been learning German since last February as part of the International Studies portion of my degree. I chose it because (1) I learnt about German history as part of Modern in year 12, (2) was always fascinated by languages but never bothered to learn, and (3) I wanted to expand my vocabulary beyond "Hallo", "Scheiße", "Ich liebe dich" and other Nazi propaganda schemes I learnt about at school. At UNSW, German is offered at 3 different levels: Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced. There are 2 levels within these groups and I've just completed the Introductory B course which means I'm at an A2 level.
This holidays, I expected to do a ton of revision and do all the activities I assigned myself (there's around 25 of them) on Deutsch für dich by Goethe Institut, but I haven't even done half. I haven't done the leftover textbook activities I forgot to do last semester either. With just over a week to go until uni starts (my first class back is German as well!) I really need to get a move on with my revision. This thread will hopefully help me out during Term 2 of uni-- because of trimesters, I'm doing Intermediate German A in Term 1 and Intermediate B in Term 3 so I need to do constant revision during Term 2.
Almost forgot this as well -- I'm going on exchange at the end of August next year to Germany so I'll have to be somewhat proficient at the language.
Today's aim: complete 2 activities on Deutsch für dich! Please keep me accountable!! :-)
