Does it roughly translate to the raw marks you received on the exam?

Your GA grades (e.g. C, C+, B) aren't  your raw exam mark but it's how you did on that assessment compared to others in the state.  (usually GA3 is the exam but - for example - for methods it's specifically exam 2)

For many subjects:
GA1: unit 3 SACs
GA2: unit 4 SACs
GA3: exam
