Are there any economics texts (like The Wealth fo Nations or On the Principles of Political Economy and Taxation), that cover the topics in the study design broadly? I'd be interested in reading them for extra depth, not only to the course, but to my general knowledge.

Books like the Wealth of Nations is written by Adam Smith. It covers the concept of nudge theory and loss aversion. But, most of this content you need to know is already stated in the textbook. There is no need to read wider books like The Wealth of Nations.
