Honestly just googling this question would be easier.
If you did google this question and there is something you don't understand then tell us what you don't understand about the googled answer.
Anyways, I saved you the time and I googled it myself.
Quote from: PEDIAA
The main difference between test cross and the backcross is that test cross is used to discriminate the genotype of an individual which is phenotypically dominant whereas a backcross is used to recover an elite genotype from a parent which bears an elite genotype.

I think what they mean by elite genotype is just a genotype that is favorable for an organism, a backcross is a cross between a hybrid f1 organism with any one of its parents depending on which one has the "elite genotype" in order to create offspring with a genotype similar to the parent being crossed.

The oral groove in a paramecium is a notch in its body, that leads to the food storage area. It is lined with cilia that are used for sweeping nutrition sources into the cell as opposed to the cilia covering its body used for motility.

Can someone please tell me why I am doing so badly this year in bio compared to last year? I was at the top of my class last year but now I’m averaging low 80s. How do I get better? How do I regain those high 90 scores? Please help. Also if I continue to average in the 80s for the entire Subject would I still be able to get a 45+ for a study score?

not an easy question to answer without knowing what you did last year and what you are doing now.

Did you study differently?
Did the teaching style change?
Did the content get harder?
Did other students start actually trying?

can someone explain the process of budding in fungi

A type of asexual reproduction where a small bulge grows in the side of the fungus, and then the new part breaks off and becomes it's own organism. It's an unequal division because the new part is a lot smaller. They will be genetically identical.

To be honest I don't think I study differently this year compared to last year. I had more time I guess last year because I only had 1 1/2 subject. My teacher did change though, I don't really think he's that good tbh. The content definitely got more challenging but I was still able to handle it. I don't actually know if the other students started actually trying, maybe? Maybe I just need to keep trying and persevering and ask my old teacher for help when I need it then maybe I'll do better. Thanks for helping anyway, I've been quite bummed out about this for a while.
