2018 Trial Practice Paper

Hey y'all!

As requested, I've written up a practice paper to help you prep for your software trials. These will be released section by section, so you can work on them as I write them.

Attached below is Section II, worth 60 marks (don't look at me like that, multiple choice questions are hard to come up with). You can also view it on Google Docs here.

A lot of the questions are based on my predictions for the HSC. I did this last year with a spreadsheet of all the syllabus dot points and got it with about 80% accuracy :)

There are also fewer algorithms questions than your average HSC paper because we've still got Alcon running. Any topic requests let us know! Side note: Is anyone doing Option 1?

Send your answers in below, or send them to me via PM. I'll attach the solutions in a couple of days along with the rest of the paper.

Hope this helps!! Good luck with study everyone  :D

Awesome stuff! Skimmed through the questions and found areas that I am not knowledgeable enough to understand. Going to revise my notes before I take a proper attempt.

Thanks!

You're very welcome! And it's great that you're finding gaps in your knowledge-- better now than in the exam. Looking forward to seeing your progress :)

Is it just me or are the independent trials stupidly hard?
I have a bunch and the questions seem so different to the ones in HSC
Sad because me and Cthulu sit the independent trials

They are. That's the case for a lot of Independents papers.

Nor does it matter too much, because it means your entire cohort suffers and moderation will save you when the time comes.

My goodness, look at this. A full trial paper!

The original Google Doc has been updated. You can find it here!

Alternatively, just download the attached pdf :)

Solutions should be coming soon! Just a bit more patience. Thanks all!

EDIT: Realised I put in a logic gate that's already simplified. 31b has been changed :)

Hey all,
As promised, here are the solutions to our past paper!

If you would like to discuss any of the sample answers, you may do so here.

Thank you, and good luck with the actual trials! I'm sure you'll all smash them! :)
