charmanderp is our 16th inductee into the ATAR Notes Hall of Fame.

charmanderp contributed 3,000+ and 50+ threads across ~4 years of solid activity, including 700+ in the University of Melbourne board, and just shy of 500 in VCE Chemistry. This is my personal favourite of charmanderp's threads - and, honestly, one I think we should revive or replicate. ;)

Like alondouek, charmanderp was a National Moderator from January 2014 until June 2016, and has been an Honorary Moderator since that time. This, and all of charmanderp's contributions to ATAR Notes, are certainly worthy of recognition and acknowledgement.

So, please join me in welcoming our 16th Hall of Fame inductee: charmanderp.

It's a great privilege to kick off the new week with our latest (17th) inductee to the ATAR Notes Hall of Fame: slothpomba.

slothpomba - the self-proclaimed "Chief Executive Sloth" - joined ATAR Notes in late 2008, and made their first post on that same day. They currently sit on 4,459 posts, but this number is rising still, with slothpomba making amazing posts as recently as a couple of weeks ago. Later this year will mark their ten year anniversary on ATAR Notes, which is a huge deal.

Some of my favourite slothpomba threads are the Monash 2014 JAFFY tips thread, and the Monash 2015 JAFFY tips thread. These encapsulate slothpomba's helpful and balanced nature, and indicate the sort of time slothpomba has invested into ATAR Notes for the benefit of others.

Considering the above threads, you might not be surprised that slothpomba has been most prolific on the Monash University board, with more than 750 posts in that section of the site alone. But they have also been a huge contributor to a number of boards, including but certainly not limited to Victorian Education Discussion, News and Politics, General University Discussion, Other General Discussion and VCE Biology.

slothpomba transitioned into an Honorary Moderator position in June 2016, and still holds that title today.

So, please join me in welcoming our 17th Hall of Fame inductee: slothpomba.

Suuuuuper excited about this one. Our 18th inductee to the ATAR Notes Hall of Fame is jakesilove, who will be a familiar name to very many of you.

To this point, only one of our inductees joined ATAR Notes after 2011. jakesilove joined in 2014 - considerably later - and, just four years later, is an Honorary Moderator. That speaks volumes for how much jakesilove has contributed to ATAR Notes in that time. In fact, today is four years to the day that jakesilove joined the forums.

jakesilove will be familiar to many of you because they were one of the original three moderators from New South Wales, along with jamonwindeyer and elysepopplewell. Together with brenden, these three built the NSW community from the ground up, and I think everybody here would agree that they've done an absolutely stellar job. In the space of just a couple of years, ATAR Notes - HSC is just as big as ATAR Notes - VCE, and that's a phenomenal effort. Much of the credit must go to jakesilove.

jakesilove has made ~2,000 posts on the forums, largely answering questions in great detail in the HSC Chemistry, HSC Physics, HSC 2U Maths, HSC 3U Maths and HSC 4U Maths boards. That's a lot of questions, and should certainly be acknowledged.

One of ATAR Notes' inaugural and most experienced NSW lecturers, jakesilove is also actively involved in ATAR Notes beyond the forums. After moderating for several years, in December 2017 they transitioned to an Honorary Moderator position to allow greater focus on other ATAR Notes initiatives - the very first Honorary Moderator from NSW.

jakesilove's impact on ATAR Notes is practically immeasurable, and the AN Community would certainly not be as vibrant or strong as it is today without their contributions.

So, please join me in welcoming our 18th Hall of Fame inductee: jakesilove.

Aaron is a very deserving 19th inductee into the ATAR Notes Hall of Fame.

Joining in September 2012, Aaron made their first post that same month: the first of, at time of writing, nearly 3,000. Aaron has also spent ~190 days on site, making him the fourth (soon to be third) most prolific user of ATAR Notes of all time.

Very much of this time has been spent performing moderator duties, largely invisible to the vast majority of members. In this sense, Aaron has kept the forums running since becoming a National Moderator in June 2016, and before that in capacity of a State Moderator. Aaron has driven a push toward consistency and diligence in the moderator group, and acted as a great example in their time on the moderator team.

Aaron was awarded a position as an Honorary Moderator in January 2018 in recognition of their service to ATAR Notes, following their decision to step down to focus on career.

Of Aaron's ~3,000 posts, many have come in the Sport, Victorian Education Discussion and General University Discussion boards. Aaron has also demonstrated an interest in developing some of the less active boards, such as VCE Technology, which has been and continues to be greatly appreciated.

Aaron has always been professional and helpful, and their passion for genuinely helping as many students as possible is clear.

So, please join me in welcoming our 19th Hall of Fame inductee: Aaron.

Inductee #20 to the ATAR Notes Hall of Fame is none other than our most recently inducted Honorary Moderator, keltingmeith.

keltingmeith made their first post in April 2014, and its helpful nature was surely a sign of things to come. In less than four years, keltingmeith has made a touch under 5,000 posts - practically all of them just as if not more helpful than their first.

With a combined ~2,100 posts in the VCE Methods and VCE Specialist Maths boards, it's fair to say that keltingmeith has answered a math question or two on ATAR Notes. These posts would have helped literally thousands of students on their own, not even considering keltingmeith's other contributions to the ATAR Notes Community (which have been many).

Threads like this, this, this, this, this, this and this go some way to explaining why keltingmeith is so highly respected on the forums.

A National Moderator from October 2015 until January 2018, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong, friend) keltingmeith is a multiple winner of ATAR Notes' "Most Scary Moderator" award ;), but the clearest thing is their willingness to help others. And you can read more about their journey in their University Journey Journal. ;D

So, please join me in welcoming our 20th Hall of Fame inductee: keltingmeith.

It seems almost unjust that enwiabe has been left this late in the inaugural ATAR Notes Hall of Fame inductions. Why? Because, fundamentally, none of us would be reading this without enwiabe!

enwiabe was - and is - the founder of ATAR Notes. Indeed, ATAR Notes (then "FreeStudyNotes") was born as a Summer project, which you can read about in the very first thread on ATAR Notes, found here.

An amendment to enwiabe's first post read as follows:

Quote
But I say this now, and I will never recant it: There will never ever be a fee required to access FSN. FSN will always be free for every VCE student to use... This website, after all, provides FREE study notes. May this website prosper for many years to come.

And prosper it has - for more than a decade, in fact. The sentiment lives on today, and here's to the next decade of ATAR Notes.

On the forums, enwiabe made nearly 4,500 posts and created more than 250 threads. But the importance of enwiabe to the history of ATAR Notes is obviously much greater than numbers and statistics. As the founder of the site, I think we all owe a bit to enwiabe for their incredibly huge contributions.

So, please join me in welcoming our 21st Hall of Fame inductee: enwiabe.

And so we come to our 22nd final inaugural ATAR Notes Hall of Fame Member. It seems fitting that our final inductee (for now) was here from the start - or at least close enough to it. ninwa joined ATAR Notes on October 20, 2007: the day after its creation. She was a huge figure, and a huge part of ATAR Notes' development over the last ten years.

On the forums, ninwa made more than 8,000 posts - to this day, the fifth most in ATAR Notes history. And they sit on an absolutely mammoth +1,014 respect, really highlighting their impact on the ATAR Notes Community. Their first post encapsulates the spirit of ATAR Notes, which is great. An excerpt:

Quote
at the end of this year ill have tonnes of notes but I don't know anyone who does my subjects. but now I can put them up here (right?) so they don't go to waste!

ninwa was one of ATAR Notes' first Administrators, and passed the baton to brenden in early 2015. From brenden's post:

Quote
I wanted to give an enormous thank you to Nina for everything she's given to the forums - which is a lot. A lot a lot. Without her efforts, ATAR Notes would be much shitter. Legitimately. That's just how it is. She's put a lot of effort into the upkeep, maintenance and development of the community, such that it simply wouldn't be the same, enjoyable place without those efforts.

But I think the best part was when ninwa accidentally deleted their own account. Classic.

So, please join me in welcoming our 22nd and final inaugural Hall of Fame inductee: ninwa.

Inductee #21: enwiabe (February - March 2018)
Inductee #22: ninwa (February - March 2018)
Each of these members - Eriny, EvangelionZeta, Fyrefly, Gloamglozer, Mao, Russ, shinny, TrueTears, pi, taiga, thushan, b^3, lasercookie, Phy124, alondouek, charmanderp, slothpomba, jakesilove, Aaron, keltingmeith, enwiabe and ninwa - has made significant contributions to the history and present climate of ATAR Notes. Some were here for a relatively short time, some are still here. Regardless, these are the people to whom we should be thankful for, without them, ATAR Notes would not be in the incredibly fantastic position it is today. And as we continue with the development of ATAR Notes, we shouldn't forget those who set the foundations for our current success.

What I will note is that their contributions were varied, and there are very many ways in which you can make a positive contribution to ATAR Notes. Future inductees - and there will be future inductees - might be inducted for things we've never even thought of yet. And that inductee might be you.

As you may have noticed, almost all of the above users have since moved on from the forums. We decided to first highlight the contributions of those past users. In saying that, there are users active on the forums right now who will make it into the Hall of Fame. Users who have already contributed significantly to the AN Community, users who will do so in the future. I really actively encourage you to try to make a positive difference. No matter if you're in Year 9 or graduated from university, you can make ATAR Notes a better place, and everybody is welcome here.

On a personal note, I've very much enjoyed compiling this Hall of Fame. It's been a pleasure going back through the history books and gaining a greater understanding of these users - some of whom I have had no direct contact. I'm quite sure I've not done some inductees justice, as there are many contributions I will have missed or simply don't know about. But I hope that this initiative has at least somewhat shone light on those who deserve it: those inducted into the ATAR Notes Hall of Fame.

P.S. Which current or past users do you tip to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the future? ;)
