I finally sent off mine a few days ago, and I may move some around, but generally this is what I ended up with:
1) UniMelb - BSci - Hoping to do the food science major.
2) Monash- BSci - Backup in case I don't get a good methods score, but would be happy to major in Chem.
3) Monash- PharmaSci - I just love chem + bio and good old product development.
4) Monash - Arts- Backup if I need to transfer into BSci.
5) RMIT - PharmSci - May switch this with the BA.
6) Monash - Nutrition science.
7) RMIT - Food Technology and Buisman
8 )RMIT- Food Technology and Nutrition - food tech stream.
As you can see they are mainly based around food science as that is my key interest. However, I still want flexibility, as I can always change my mind, and I want that as an option, which is why two BSci's are at the top. For me, I see myself working in either the food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medicine (still keeping that pathway open), product development, or government regulation. It would probably still require a masters, which i'm okay with doing. But I think overall I see my degree as an opportunity and a stepping stone into a career I enjoy (anything with Chem and Bio
, and one that can take me places, whether that is in Australia or overseas.
