Dog stole my beanie when I was on the phone and spinning the beanie around my hand. Guess I'm just beanieless forever now.

Went to the World Jousting Championship near Warragul (hosted here because last year's winner was from Victoria).  I think we got better weather than is expected tomorrow for the finals (which can also be watched online...)

Bed covers stayed on for the entire night (I usually kick them off). Subsequently woke warmer than usual. All about the little wins.

Attempting to write a paragraph on the theme Loss and Grief  in Year of Wonders thats due in an hour :o
Surely that constitutes as a paragraph
Paragraph on Loss And Grief
Loss and Grief

Throughout the novel, all characters experience loss and grief and they all respond in different ways. Anna’s loss of her husband Sam, her lodger George Viccars and her sons Jamie and Tom bring her great grief however her losses are what inspires the most growth and change from her. Despite many others blaming the plague on God and succumbing to hysteria, Anna, led by Elinor, concludes the plague is a thing of nature and must be looked at scientifically. In contrast to Anna’s response to her loss, Anna’s mother Aphra Bont is pushed over the edge, and the ‘ravages of her madness’ had taken a great toll on her both mentally and physically as she dismembers her children and kills Elinor in a rage of ‘senseless violence’. Other characters blame Anys and Mem Gowdie for the plague consequently lynching Anys when she performs mouth to mouth on her aunt Mem she is seen as a witch for bringing her aunt back to life.
All characters experience grief and loss however every character responds and copes differently.

So, uh, ANU got hacked. I'm both amused and concerned.

....Apparently this started in late 2018, they only realised a couple of weeks ago, and they're only telling us today ::)

As in, data breach hacked.

Quote
We believe there was unauthorised access to significant amounts of personal staff, student and visitor data extending back 19 years.

Depending on the information you have provided to the University, this may include names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, personal email addresses and emergency contact details, tax file numbers, payroll information, bank account details, and passport details. Student academic records were also accessed.

Apparently they got hacked earlier last year as well, and supposedly upgraded their security, which is supposedly the only reason they detected it this time (...months after the fact). But ya know, why bother upgrading their security enough to prevent hacking I guess??

And now they're basically just telling us to change our passwords and move on ::) Nevermind that identity theft would be ridiculously easy with the stolen information.

Heaps of people on shmidtposting are blaming china lol

Edit: Apparently this is important news - got a messenger notification about it from the ABC lol.

im pissed and i wanna rant

so basically my mum drove me to the station this morning and at the traffic lights, we went past some dude. i didnt think much of it at the time. then when i got out of the car and my mum drove away, he came up to me and told me how bad of a driver my mum was and how he almost got ran over even though the pedestrian crossing was red and the traffic lights were green, not to mention he was on the sidewalk. literally, unless my mum rammed the car onto the sidewalk, he would be fine.

idk. just a bad start to my day.
