"History of" dotpoints

So there are quite a few dotpoints about past biological research
e.g. historical development of cause and prevention of malaria
Is it necessary to actually remember dates and scientists for these, or just the general process of development

Hi!
For this particular dot-point, I would advise you to remember the dates and scientists :)
Life is weird and crazy as heck but what can you do?

You don't need the dates - this is biology not history. You need the scientists, e.g. for malaria the important ones are:

- Started using quinine from cinchona tree to treat malaria
- Charles Lavaren saw malaria in red blood cells
- Ronald Ross saw the anopheles mosquito carrying malaria and described the mosquito's lifestyle
- Grassi declared the anopheles mosquito as the vector for malaria
- DDT (dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane) developed to kill mosquitoes

Even though dates aren't NEEDED.

I highly recommend remembering them, as it really strengthens your understanding to the marker. (rarely, some Trial Biology papers did deduct marks for not including dates).

I'm fine with learning content but I always seem to struggle with dates for some reason haha.
I don't think I have time for trials but for HSC I'll make sure I do thanks guys!

They have a set marking criteria and adding the dates wouldn't do much according to my teacher as he's been to the marking conferences. However any extra info to impress your marker always helps :)
