2019年9月12日木曜日 - Update

This week was a tad bit stressful and iffy but it was still good in the end

- I had two parts to my Math exam, CAS + notes enabled yesterday and no CAS no notes today
- I never bring cheat sheets to my exam because everything I need to know is memorized and having a cheat sheet wastes time; I learnt this last year when I had my Math exam and I realized I forgot my cheat sheet at home
- I did horrible in yesterday's one. I ran out of time and skipped 10 questions. Basically, we had around 30 multiple choice questions and I did 20 then moved to short answer and planned on going back. I ended up wasting too much time on that so when I went back, there was like 3-5min left so I just did C C C and looked through them really quickly, changed the C for whichever one seemed like the answer just couldn't be C...I sacrificed my double checking time
- It didn't help I went to sleep at 1:40 to do a bunch of revision and practice exams and then waking up at 6
- After everyone left I uhh got a bit emotional and started crying in front of my teacher. There was an older girl who was doing her SAC and when she gave me a hug; both my teacher and her were so supportive
- I had a second course counselling session and it rlly cleared me up on some things (like if I can move out of a 3/4 during Year 11)
- I went to a Lit teacher and we looked through my Lit analysis paragraph on a text called "Heart of the Darkness". I haven't read the novel but rather read a summary and found some quotes to convey my idea. My style of writing needs to be developed but my analysis was alright. I was told to look at a poem called "Goblin Market"
- I got my Bio test back and it was really bad. I talked to my teacher about it and realized that the main issue was the fact that I'm not good at dealing with things in exam conditions. It's just frustrating getting poor marks in Bio because I already studied the whole unit ahead with my tutor, memorized all the content and have a good understanding. The stress of tests and horrific application questions just get to me (partially because they test common sense and I have none)
- The girl who did her SAC's recognized me from the music committee and told one of my friends from there about what happened. That friend (who is honestly like a sister to me) checked in with me, giving me so much VCE advice, moral support, encouragement and motivation - which made my day
- I took a nap for the first time in my life and holy it's so helpful

- We had an "R U Ok" day today where we wore casual. There was free popcorn and fairy floss, as well as a few activities [and a bouncy castle?]
- I did my second Math test today and it was a lot better than yesterday's one (in terms of my own time management). I skipped only one question and got the chance to proofread. The main things that helped was going to maccas and getting a nice sweet Chai Latte which kept me awake for the whole day
- For chem, we're doing this experiment on neutralization and making a logbook on it (we have a model logbook which was a SAC written by a girl who got a raw 50). I love my partner because she does all the prac stuff and I do all the theory (I don't rlly like doing experiments or prac stuff)
- I submitted my KLD application to the teachers
- One a lighter note, my sport class wanted to go to the mezzanine (so people could do Just Dance or play around with the machines) so I randomly stepped up and told my teacher "The Mezz has machines, it's very active and people can dance; I love the Mezz, it is amazing and I am passionate about the Mezz" and everyone just laughed; now I have to go to the mezz on Tuesday lunch time to demonstrate my passion XD

I guess the overall things are that my school has an amazing community
I also need to get myself to do a lot of questions within time constraints instead of "learning all the content" and checking my notes since I know all of it pretty well and I don't have an issue with memorization

Macrob Fun Fact: The most cherished drink of Macrob is - you know it - Bubble Tea! (followed by Milkis which they sell at the canteen)

Yes, it is amazing! That's basically our community
And no we don't have bubble tea in our canteen. It's just that bubble tea happens to be on the way to and from school so it's really convenient to buy some, hence it being Macrob's fav drink

That's so awesome! Conversations with older students who have already done your subject and know your school are so helpful!
Do you get your bubble tea at Chatime? What's your favourite flavour?

Yes it is! She gives awesome advice and recommendations for tutoring, she's literally an angel!
Hmm, personally I don't get bubble tea frequently. It's just a bit too sugary (I'm a bit picky as in I don't drink soft drinks AT ALL and the only sugary drink I have is my Chai Latte to keep my brain functioning).
But yeah, I generally get mine from Chatime or Gong Cha. Chatime has a bit of a bad reputation amongst us. People complain it's too pricey or doesn't taste as good; just not worth it. To me, bubble tea tastes like bubble tea and it's rlly just a dollar or two in difference.
My favorite flavor would have to be honey dew milk tea with pearl toppings (my go to drink). I also like guava, though. What about you?

I agree! Chatime is a little pricey, but where I live it's Chatime or nothing. When I'm in the city I go wherever is closest and looks good.
Pearls are a must! At Chatime I always get a tropical tea with no sugar and no ice, but I like any of the fruity flavours.

Oh same, I don't have sugar either. Ruins the taste and just unnecessary additional calories.
Tbh I only have bubble tea for the pearls (but there have been rough times when the pearls ran out so I ordered aloe vera topping instead)

2019年9月20日金曜日 - Update

So I survived until the end of Term 3...yes, still one more to go! I'm typing this while I'm on the train on the way to my ATAR Notes Bio 3/4 lecture

- I did pretty trash on my Jap listening test and reading test (I thought I would've done a lot better on my reading). I guess my listening test is excused because it was the first time I ever did one
- I did a lot better in my Chemistry test
- I was waiting to post this update after I got my KLD outcome but too bad that ain't happening until next term so more anxiety
- We had Spring Concert on Thursday. It was reallyyy emotional and my last concert as Macrob's Middle School Music Rep (MSMR). The old Music Captains were the sweetest most hardworking people I've ever met and one of them is my biggest role model. I'm anxiously waiting for my new Student Music Committee Outcome so I will keep you guys updated on that
- Today, as u know, was the last day of school. School finished at 2:35pm. I left school at 12:50 for the climate strike with my friend (she the best violinist in all of Macrob). We drank some (yep you guessed it) bubble tea (premium milk tea with pearl toppings, less ice and no sugar). We shuffled our way through the depths of Melbourne Central (MC) to Emporium and went to buy a present for my other friend's bday on Sunday. We went to Kikki K. and when the cashier told me to say my email address, my friend and I started giggling because it's such a koreaboo name (related to Kim Seokjin of BTS) and she was like "why u laughin" and I was like because it's a kpop name...she told us she used to be a hugeee exo fan and she's seen them not once but TWICE and she is learning korean; that's not all, she looked at my uniform and said "you know, I used to go to Macrob too" and my friend and I went full fangirl mode

Anyways, thanks for reading. If you guys want a list of all the ATAR Notes lectures I will be going to, I will post it down below

Macrob Fun Fact: We have seasonal concerts which are run by the music department, as well as a few plays and musicals which are run by the drama department.
