Title: Confessions
Post by: sweetiepi on October 22, 2017, 08:55:37 pm
So I have no idea how to start this thread, but it's sorta a place for confessions, and other stuff. :)

Just keep it to the forum rules, else offending posts will be removed as per moderator discretion :)

(Heidi dared me to do the thread name as this lol)

Any chance we can set the posters to be anonymous. The least thing I need is some user to recognise some part of my confession and confront me about it in person.
Unfortunately, I don't have the capability of switching on anon posting, plus things could get hairy, therefore anon posting isn't enabled. :)

okay this is a really lame confession, but in case you work at coles, here it goes:

I once opened those huge hubba bubba roles in the confectionery isle, and I took a massive bite out of it. It was the best tasting thing I've ever eaten. I have to admit however that I did feel guilty because I just left it there. Keep in mind however I think I was in grade 4, so it doesn't count as a sin.  :P

I've started to regularly dream about ATAR Notes.

The night before the spesh exam I dreamt there was a question with imaginary probabilities

I've had soooo many dreams about ATAR Notes and most of them are dreams of things to be marked piling up and when I'm marking I keep reading the same sentence over and over and cannot move on...soooo stressful hahaha. I had a dream like this on Saturday night, even though I knew I wasn't going to return to ATAR Notes until today after a small surgery. Weird

You know what, no. That last confession isn't even deep. But this is. It's a shame you can't upvote in this thread because I'm about to take you all on a wild ride. I'll put this in a spoiler so if you hate discussion of gross things then don't open.

Spoiler
So I had a turbinoplasty and septoplasty last Friday. I have experienced super large turbinates (Image here if you dare) for at least three years now, apparently a deviated septum too, and then a severe dust mite allergy. So I finally got myself a surgery on Friday, I stayed overnight with some tampons on my nose. Bled continually for a few days. Had to sleep with my mouth open because my nose had tampons in it, so dribbled a whole lot too. Just to give you the imagery of my low points.

Are you with me?

I have to take antibiotics three times a day because there's a high infection risk and I'm not supposed to leave the house for 14 days (although I misunderstood my doctor so I only got ten days off work oops). I take pandeine forte three times a day as well otherwise it feels like my face has had a basketball thrown at it for hours at a time. You know that stingy, tingly, painful feeling? Yeah.

But, friends, the best part: my nasal douching.

If you've never douched your nose before then perhaps you've never properly experienced joy. I boil some water, wait for it to become luke warm, put some little solution in it that is basically just salt, and then shake it all up and I'm ready to go.

I lean over the basin and keep my mouth open, insert the nozzle (I tried to spell that four times) into my nostril and breathe in and out of my mouth as I squeeze the essence of the douche into my nostril. It feels a little tingly, but you've got to keep breathing. It pushes through the nostril to the very back, and then it starts to trickle out the OTHER nostril, dragging all kinds of debris with it. Some of the debris is mucus, sometimes blood (either in liquid or solid form), a little bit of my stitches came out this morning...you understand. I'm baffled at how much is stored up my nostrils post-operation! I can't wait to continue this for weeks to come to see what else I can extract when I'm back to health.

It feels good. You can feel the moment the warm liquid starts to break through the debris at the very back of the nose and it kind of tugs it down in a satisfying stream and then my mouth and eyes are wide open looking at the basin, so I can see the debris as it spills out. Oh god. Talk. about. satisfying.

So this morning I gave it a bit of a gentle blow as I did it, and it really pulled out all kinds of blockages. I can't wait to douche again tonight <3

My doctor says I should do this for the rest of my life because it stops you from getting sick. I'm down for this.

Anyway, I hope you all don't think less of me now and I hope you've enjoyed my journey to great breathing <3

So I'm trying to plan a trip for during my midsem, however, idk how my parents will react. I'm too chicken to ask them until I'm about to book everything :-[

(Also I feel like I upset a really great friend today... and that makes me feel terrible :/ )

I seem really outgoing and assertive, when really I'm extremely unsociable and afraid to say or do anything around people. (My secrets out)

Sometimes I look at the sensors at the tops of automatic doors at shopping centres the way that Eleven from Stranger Things looks at things when she moves things with her mind, because it amuses me when they open as I walk through.  :)

The system at Subway intimidates me so much I refuse to order there even if it's what I really want.

Yes, same! Although I still do sometimes go there. I always talk too quiet, and the people have to get me to repeat what I said because they can't hear, so I should probably speak louder.
Remember that everytime you do something you are scared of it will get a fraction less intimidating!

I love coriander. I think that all people can be categorised into those who do and do not like coriander. There is clearly a large divide.

PS. I hate banana. It is clearly satanic. But... I have a weird obsession with banana lollies.  :o
