Hello,
I am currently in year 10 and aspire to become a doctor. I was researching about Medical degrees and I came across the Medical Science and Medicine degree at Monash (pretty sure that's what I need). I know that I need to complete the UCAT, take part in the interview and have an adequate ATAR. On the page it says that I need a 94 ATAR (Monash guarantee). I know what a Monash guarantee is and I am fairly certain  I meet the requirements (from under-represented school and got Health-Care card) but how does it affect my entry into the degree (since I have to do the UCAT and interview)?

That's basically right - the Monash Guarantee reserves some amount of places to students who meet the criteria (low SES or otherwise) who otherwise wouldn't have gotten a place. You'll still have to do the UCAT and interview and you'll still be ranked (so meeting the criteria doesn't guarantee you'll get a place), but you'll have a better chance.

Ok thank you for the reply. I have a health care card, from low-income suburb and go to an under-represented school. Does this mean I am guaranteed Monash Guarantee? Also I don't know what the SES thing is.

SES means socio-economic status - basically income.

A lot of people apply for Monash Guarantee and meet the requirements, but I doubt everyone who applies and meets the requirements gets it (this is just a guess though). So I'm pretty sure meeting the requirements doesn't necessarily mean you'll get the Monash Guarantee. However definitely apply if you fit the criteria. Good luck!
