How come nursing requires biology but medicine doesn't?

It's strange that in order to be applicable for the physiotherapy course you need both Bio and Chem, but for medicine you don't.

It's strange that in order to be applicable for the physiotherapy course you need both Bio and Chem, but for medicine you don't.

I guess maybe it's because medical courses are longer and therefore have time to cover the bio that you miss in year 12
