Title: How Will This Affect My ATAR?
Post by: Integration on August 16, 2020, 10:41:52 pm
Hi,

I just have a question regarding my atar.
Let's say if I get high 90's in 2 of my subjects (which will = 4 units total), but get Band 4-5 results for my other 6 units, would it still be possible to get an ATAR of around 85-95?

Thanks!

Hey there, always good to see a new user :)

This question is tough to answer because it's often so vague. 'Tanking' one subject vs another can have larger than expected discrepancies in ATAR; mainly due to the relative performance of students doing these subjects. Strictly speaking though, this scenario is very possible - you could potentially take straight 90's for 2 subjects and worst-case scenario 70s for the rest, and still get 85+. However, it's important to not take these scenarios seriously - the best thing you can do for yourself is focus on what you can do instead of what you can't; just go out and do your best! Concerning yourself with a low percentage event is honestly less productive - I trust that you'll get the scores you need :)

Hope this helps!
