Title: Pascal triangle related maths question
Post by: Jaco0318 on February 21, 2021, 08:19:04 pm
Hi I got a problem on solving a Maths question, kindly help.

If the first n triangular numbers are added, the nth tetrahedral number is produced.
The triangular numbers are located on the third diagonal and are 1, 3, 6, 10, ...
The tetrahedral numbers are located on the fourth diagonal and are 1, 4, 10, 20, 35... and the name is linked to the construction of tetrahedrons.
For example 4 = 1 + 3, 10 has 3 layers, 6 + 3 + 1 to form a tetrahedron.

Determine a rule for the number of units required to make a tetrahedron with n layers. Show your rule is valid when n = 6.
