Help regarding the requirements for seas

So I live in a rural area and I've read that I can apply for SEAS. How long do I need to live in that certain area to actually apply? I haven't found any information regarding this. I asked my friends and some said 3 years and some said 1. please help.

You can indeed apply for SEAS under Category 1 (personal details, including location).

The length depends largely on the institute(s) you want to apply for, although a quick glimpse doesn’t show me much in regards to length of residency in a rural area. If my memory serves me correctly, it’s usually a year for most institutes, but unfortunately my memory’s hazy on that. I’d suggest you check out this link (see the tables for your desired institute(s)) and probably double check with VTAC directly.
