I cannot figure out this problem from my textbook.
Could someone please solve it and give the reasoning step by step?
The answer is the book is 16cm.

A right-angled triangle can be constructed with vertices at (i) the point of contact between the sphere and the cone; (ii) the centre of the sphere; (iii) the vertex of the cone.
