Is each sac independent of each other?

(1/1)

undefined:
Let’s say a class undertakes 2 sacs, one extremely hard and one extremely easy.
If student A does very well on the hard SAC and gets say 90% when the class average was 40% but chokes badly on the easy SAC and gets 50% when the class average was 70%, does the teacher average the student’s scores over the two SACs then determine the rankings from there? Or are rankings independent for each SAC?

Is there some sort of internal scaling based on each individual SACs difficulty? Because wouldn’t it be more fair if Student A was rewarded more for doing better in the harder SAC compared to let’s say Student B who got 90% on the easy SAC

Thanks

It really depends on how the teacher decides to process the marks before giving them to VCAA. They may perform some sort of scaling, standardisation, or could even fit students to a bell curve for each SAC. But at the end of the day they will only submit one number to VCAA for the entire in-school GA.

Mathematically speaking, let's say both SACs are worth 100 marks. With 90% on the first SAC and 50% on the second SAC you'll have a total of 140 marks. The average student in your class would have 110 marks. You're still above average anyhow, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Focus on learning as much as you can for the next SACs.
