Practice Essay Questions - Module A

Hey!

So, I went through the rubric and made up some essay questions that are directly from what NESA expects us to learn within this module. Of course, these questions are just if you want to practice writing + collecting quotes and what not and do not resemble what may come into the HSC. If you do use any of them, feel free to post your essays in the "Marking and Feedback" section and I will try to read over it and get back to you with feedback!
Here are the questions;
- How do your prescribed texts reimagine or reframe an aspects of their textual conversation. In your response, evaluate how their textual conversation might mirror, align and collide with each other?
- Evaluate how common or different issues, values, assumptions or perspectives are depicted within your prescribed texts.
- By comparing your prescribed texts, discuss how composers are influenced by their social/personal context and values as well as other texts. In your response, evaluate how this is able to create meaning.
- Within your two prescribed texts, evaluate how textual features, conventions, contexts, values and purpose are used differently/similarly.
- “Authors are shaped by their understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of other texts. This appreciation influences their perspective and combines with their context to produce their own texts”
      Evaluate the extent to which this statement is displayed within your prescribed texts.
- How do the composers of your prescribed texts use their personal, social, cultural and historical context in order to influence perspectives?
- Discuss the resonances and dissonances between your two prescribed texts
- How are your two prescribed texts distinguished and different. Within your response, make reference to how techniques are able to shape meaning.

Hope this helps develop your understanding and personal voice in relation to this module!
