2013-2014 AFL Draft/Trade Period

I'm personally looking forward to the draft and trade period; always a good time for massive speculation :P What do you guys think about what's happening thus far?

Buddy moving to the Swans is pretty disappointing, I reckon it's abuse by the club of their COL allowance (which in itself is contentious). I'd also be pretty upset about Matty White moving to Port, but it's unlikely that he'll stay.

He's not going to last 9 years in his condition, 5 maybe. I don't think it's right for the SFC to use their cost-of-living allowance funds to make room in the salary cap. I mean, delisting half of their squad isn't going to make room for $10million for one player.

I reckon the AFL should veto. (Extremely biased, but having Tippett and Buddy in the same forward line is mildly terrifying)

Also, Freo's Jayden Pitt has to retire because of a heart condition, which is a bit of a shame.

With Dustin Martin, Dale Thomas, Nick Dal Santo, Eddie Betts and Heath Shaw all looking to be on the move, the 2014 season will be shaken up a bit!

Dustin re-signed with Richmond for two years in the past couple of days; hope Richmond have another good year of draft picks and trades (the only dud this time 'round was Sam Lonergan, and even he's not too bad). Heath Shaw might be a good acquisition if we can't get Taylor Adams.

Betts looks to be going to Adelaide, don't know where Dal Santo'll end up...

Port don't need a midfielder like Matthew White.. with wingard, wines, boak and moore all still very young I don't see the need for him. They need another strong key forward imo. It's likely they will buy Heath Shaw though... what a shame.

I can't understand Buddy. Who leaves a premiership team?! It bumps my prediction for Syd though.. I thought they'd drop off the four.

If you were offered that much money, you'd take it.

Remember, footy is also a job for these players, it provides them with their course of income for food, house, drugs, etc.

Fremantle or gws would of been a much better option for franklin .

However franklin and kurt tippet will make a killer duo in the forward line .

Looks like Podsiadly and Chapman are leaving Geelong, Colin Sylvia is heading to Freo, and Dale Thomas is pretty much at Carlton.

Geelong in the HOT SEAT for Taylor Adams (Because he played for the Geelong Falcons).

Would be great to bring him in (I'm clearly a Geelong supporter). :D :D
