WOW so glad that's over! That was the exam I was the most scared of.

I was pretty happy with the prompts, and I was so relieved when I saw the size of the article. It was really easy to understand, as well.

Good luck with the rest of your exams, everyone!

Fuck, I didn't analyse the pictures. I thought of analysing the EFTPOS machine picture but I had no idea what it meant and why it was even there.

Omg yes I know right??? Also my mind completely blanked and I forgot what the EFTPOS machine was actually called!!! I referred to it as a ‘mini-atm.’ The examiner is going to think I’m missing a brain

i cooked section c badly, im pretty sure i retold the story more than I analysed it.

my English teacher (who's also a vcaa assessor) said that you need to have a conclusion in your language analysis but it doesn't get marked.
That's just what she said.
Re: Conclusion

idk about it not being marked - whatever you do on the page will be considered when formulating a mark but the conclusion on its own is not 100% necessary most people will just chuck the conclusion at the end of the last body paragraph for language analysis in a couple of sentences. Also yes you can ultimately still get 9-10/10 even if you don't have a conclusion.

Just a friendly reminder that your overall exam mark will not be decided by small things such as missing the conclusion or using the wrong terminology a couple of times. Examiners understand this is a highly stressed examination. Your essay will be marked overall on how well you have conveyed your points, used the best pieces of evidence, structured your response and analysed.

Congratulations on finishing your first VCE exam and now it's time to stop dwelling on this one and focusing on the next :)

Does that include not worrying whether you put a tick or shade on the boxes?

I forgot to freaking analyse the visuals for section C, and I feel like an idiot because I usually don't forget such things. Ughhhhhhhhh.

Anyone know how much this will impact my score, by not including a visual analysis for section C?

We had some people in my class like this.
Our English teacher (former VCAA examiner) said it's common the students to miss the visuals.
However she said some past students from our school have missed the visual analysis and managed to do quite well.
Probably will depend on the quality of your other points of analysis.

They ask you to shade the box because it will be scanned and shading shows up better. A tick should still be visible though, and if it's not they'll figure it out from looking at your piece.
