So i'm totally struggling with answering the 10 mark essay questions. I am aware of the strengths and weaknesses of most topics however, i do not know how to structure it? Some pointers and tips would be muchly appreciated!
HELP
There are many ways. I think a lot of people structure it with a mark for an intro and conclusion and 4 marks per strength and weaknesses. Personally, the way I always wrote mine were with juxtaposing strengths and weaknesses and usually 5 of each given that it was a straight str/wkns question. Last year I have 2 marks to the role of VLRC iirc and 8 marks for str/wkn of the jury system. Do give you a basic template, if the question was
"Critically evaluate the jury system"
One strength of the jury system is that it represents a cross-section of society. *talk about why this is good*.
However , in having a cross-section of society, jury members are inexperienced and this may cause them to act with personal prejudices. *bit more discussion*
Another strength of the jury system is that accused persons found not-guilty cannot be tried again. *talk about why this is good*. However this means that if there is more evidence in future, a guilty person may walk free. *talk about why this is bad*
So just.
-strength-. however, -weakness-
-next strength-, although -weakness-
-next strength-, this being said -weakness-
I found it a logical way to structure my responses and found that it helped with remembering them as the corresponding weaknesses popped up when you remembered the strength. Just my two cents.
