Title: Hardest Methods Topic?
Post by: TigerMum on March 21, 2019, 09:23:46 pm
Just want to get your thoughts on what you think the hardest Methods topic is, be it a chapter from the textbook or a group of chapters.
I've had some people tell me Probability and some tell me Calculus.

Personally Trig is the one that got me.

I could never quite grasp the whole concept of the Unit Circle and how that relates to everything and I only finally understood how to use the Unit Circle properly (i kid you not) 20 minutes before the non-calc exam.

Probability wasn't far behind it though. From my experience it starts easy and simple but very quickly descends into a complicated confusing mess of formulas and little things to remember.

Calculus I found the easiest but that was probably because that was the topic  found the most interesting. And besides the Trig parts of Calculus I didn't find it too bad

Composite functions was the hardest for me and probability and statistics were the easiest. Probably because there was a direct ‘fill in the blank’ and ‘given event a occurs, what’s the probiotic b occurs?’ approach to a lot of the questions.

Surprisingly I found probability the easiest by far - in fact it was the only reason I got over 25 (26) was because in my year in the short answer section there was a huge amount of marks for probability.
I would say for me it was functions and graphs. that shit really hurt me no matter how hard i studied LOL
