Guys, we need to discuss with Dan, but having a section of the website on home made (I only use that as an alternative to say ATAR note exams) that could be easily accessed on the site.
‎"We divert our attention from disease and death as much as we can; and the slaughter-houses and indecencies without end on which our life is founded are huddled out of sight and never mentioned, so that the world we recognize officially in literature and in society is a poetic fiction far handsomer and cleaner and better than the world that really is."

Mc 9 isn't A is it? Fixed interval isn't a specific number of responses it's a specific time period in which the desired behaviour was performed?

Sorry my bad, its C.

Could you please explain the answer for question 6 - How can phobias be transmitted within families? For the transmission of threat part? And can a dysfunctional GABA system be a correct answer as well?

Really the question is within families, but it is genetics, but I'd say go its more the other two.

There's probably a psychology theory for it (Camo?)

Something to do with that the term "home made exams" reminds you of home-made icecream - an item that is familiar. This effectively calms people that are about to do a 'home made exam' and causes them to do better on it. This in turn, makes people more happier and approving of the exams.

(or is making up random stuff like that come under psuedoscience and have no real basis?)

ATAR Notes Trial Exams sounds more fancier though. Though I think I prefer the funny names like "Puffy" and "Thelson".

When Thushan was 5 his parents would give him an ice-cream every time he completed a methods exam. Repeated association means that he now associated methods exams with the reward of ice-cream.

Boom.

LOL. Nice theory except...

I could barely even add when I was 5. Let alone doing a methods exam!

Laseredd I know there is I'm just having the wrong retrieval cues at the moment, but does it sound like a good idea?

It sounds like a sound idea to me. A page for all these exams in one place would be handy. I think he has a few ideas about ATAR Notes trial exams, I wouldn't be surprised if he's already trying to get a system for it underway.

Step 4) of ATARNotes expansion: ATARNotes Trial Exams! A CALL FOR WRITERS - he mentions an e-store there - that would probably be a separate page (talks about they sell one set and the other set is free).

I think there was another thread about trial exams somewhere as well (from memory Taiga created it)

edit -  here: ATARnotes VCE Trial Examinations

doubt that there would be two let alone one MC question asking for the name of the experimenters

e.g. Q3 Hans Selye
Q6 Pavlov.

It would be good though

So if I think of the VCAA exam as a homemade exam that the exam writers have put love and care into, I feel calmer going into the exam and there for increase my marks because I'll be happier and approving of the exam therefore making me realise it isn't that hard and answering every question flawlessly? This is my new plan ;D
2010: Biology [100] ;)
2011: English [61]
Mathematical Methods (CAS) [75]
Chemistry [84]
Physics [99]
Psychology [∞]
2012:.... ???

Perhaps, might want to confirm my theory with something who actually knows a thing or two about psychology though.
Maybe you can be the guinea-pig for the experiment :P

Don't forget about the reward of ice-cream as well. It seems like that worked for Thushan.
