Heres what i remember from the EXAM, but i need the cas studdies to complete the suggested solutions

one of the case studies was about a three star hotel becoming a 5 star resort. and how it wants to improve staff skills and hire 30 more staff. that had the question about how the selection process was going to change

From my memory.

QUESTION 1: The case study was about Johnson Automotive reducing their employee numbers from 500 to 300. It also stated that the remaining work force had their pay and working hours reduced by 30%. It states that these changes were made in an autocratic manner by the previous plant manager and this had caused anger among stakeholders. A new plant holder had been appointed who is going to use the participative management style.

Define the term 'stakeholder'.

 Contrast the participative and autocratic management styles.

 Outline two advantages and two disadvantages of the participative management style.

 Outline two human resource strategies that would help to maintain employee satisfaction among the remaining staff.

Explain the planning and controlling management roles and how the new plant manager will have to use them at Johnson Automotive.

QUESTION 2: Regarding Wombat airlines that operates internationally. They do not outsource any business activities so they take care of both cleaning and supplying food to the airline.

Give two characteristics of an L.S.O with reference to Wombat Airlines.

There are four OM strategies: 1. Facilities Design and Layout 2. Materials Mgmt 3. Quality Mgmt and 4. Technology.

Discuss one strategy from two of the above with reference to how it will help to improve the operations of Wombat Airlines.

 Highlight two differences in the operations of service and manufacturing firms.

Outline three ways in which L.S.O's contribute to society.

 Discuss two ethical and social responsibility issues that would effect L.S.Os, discussing the disadvantages and advantages of each making reference to Wombat Airlines or another L.S.O you have studied this year.

QUESTION 3: Change in strategy from 3 - star hotel brand to 5 - star hotel brand. Will result in changes in expectations of employees and the recruitment of 20 staff.

 Describe one driving and restraining force that may have pressured for the change to occur.

 Discuss a relevant motivation theory that the Human Resource Manager could use.

Explain an appropriate change theory that could assist the Human Resource Manager in implementing these changes.



There were more but those are all the ones I can remember at the moment.

that is so fail LOL. this was last year, straight after exams buddy, 09 exams weren't up .
